Hi all, i'm having a strange behavior on one of our computers. I have Excel and some applications for the financial market (GL, Esignal mainly) with a lot of links (DDE and RTD on the spreadsheet). Sometimes - i couldn't find any thing that makes it happens, the task bar just freezes, and switching applications takes too much time. ALT- TAB still works, but when the application gots the focus, seens like it takes 10 to 15 seconds to start reponding.. After that, this app works OK, but when i change focus agains, the same 15 secs. If i close the excel and reopen it, than everything works good again for some time.. It`s driving me crazy! Double Left Click on Folder results in Search, not Open
by Guest Tony M- 3 replies

I read an MS paper on being able to print a directory listing in XP. Thought I had done everything right as the directory listing works. However when I now double right click on a folder the Search screen pops up rather than the folder opening. Folder can be opened by left click/open from the pop-up menu but it is irritating me. Any ideas how to change back to the default action?

unable to overwrite an .ocx file in a shared folder on windows 200
by Guest arthur gill- 1 reply

As above. I can copy over .ocx's and there is not prob. I can delete then, again no problem. When I try to overwrite the .ocx with the same file I get 'unable to write file, make sure it is not already in use' dialog. I have full permission as the user (hence I can do the first two steps). Administrator has no problems tho. What should I do to allow overwriting EXISTING ocx files in a non system folder (Actually thiws is on a users share on the 'D' drive. Thanks all, this is proving to be a major headache (I work for a software develeopers and we cannot update our backups of our files into the common share folders).
