Lots of questions about how to do this, but mine is about how to undo this setting. Everytime I re-arrange (by dragging) my favorites into an order of my own, they all go back to alphabetic after I've closed IE (6). How annoying! I would like my favorites in my order thanks, microsoft! Anyone know how? Cheers.

SFC /scannow problem
by Guest Stephen- 6 replies

When I try to run "SFC /scannow" on my daughter's PC, it does not run but gives the following error message: "Windows File Protection could not initiate a scan of protected system files. The specific error code is 0x000006ba [The RPC server is unavailable]." Following possible leads from a Google search, I have checked three things in trying to solve this: 1 That the RPC service is running ("Started, Automatic"). 2 That the Verisign certificate is present (KB 296241). 3 That the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\RpcSs is present. In case it's relevant, I mention that until recently she was connecting to the internet…

Hi all Problem is quite simple (Windows XP Pro x64 with all updates) computer is quite fast when it has 4GB memory 6GB it slows down 8 GB it stops responding at least after soundcard drivers have been installed, but has very poor performance also before that. I suppose this has somethin to do with PCI memory remapping, but as it is Intel MB it has no such option on bios, but what I have found allready it should be on by default. I would also like to know if any one has working system for Intel Core2Duo processor and Intel chipset with 8GB memory fx. Asus, Intel MB's Computer also has nVidia Quadro3450 graphics adapter with most recent drivers may that caus…

My system has been working fine for months, then today it would not boot passed the log on sequence. I swithched off and restarted and it said it had a consistancy error which it fixed. Once booted up I noted that all my personal settings were gone. The problem is when I try to change them it says " This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator." I am the system administrator and the account is set up with full admin rights. I would be grateful if anyone has a solution short of reloading XP. Thanks Elvey

For quite a long time I have used the following shortcut successfully to display the expanded contents of my D drive when launched. %SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /n,/e,D: This no longer works correctly since the last Windows Update, which may be coincidental. How can I restore the desired launch display behaviour? TIA
