TS Licensing Server now not Fuctioning?
by Guest Andrew- 2 replies

I have a Windows 2003 R2 box setup as our Terminal Service Licensing Server. The server was for a long time functioning properly. However recently I removed the server as a Domain Controller, it is still a member of the domain. My other W2K3 Enterprise server is now complaining that it can not find a TS Licensing Server in the domain. When I run TS Licensing "snap-in" on the server which is supposed to be the TS Licensing server, it states it can't find a TS License Server either. If I hit ok, and then select connect and enter the machines own name, it finds the activated Licenses server. Close and open the "snap-in" and it throws the error again.…

Hello, I have two redundant TS on which I am going to be running some HMI application. I am curious as to how this system will act if the user is connected to Server A and then Server A fails how can I assure that when the user reconnects to B that they will have the same application running. Is it as simple as having the application running on both servers all the time, doesnt seem this simple since the user may have specific items open in their session. Please advise...

Suddenly during updates I've lost my MS Messenger. I've been using Windows for years ... but this is the first time experience. Any idea how to recover it for videoconferencing? I've installed SKYPE and it seems to work fine but still I'm puzzled by the disappearing of messenger. Thanks in advance for any help.

Unable to logon to a Windows Server 2003 system.

Hello guys I have a problem with a server in one of our remote sites. We normally connect to this server using VNC. for the last two weeks we are unable to log on into it, basically what's happening is that when you type your credentials (Username/Password) the system attempts to log you on but instead of loading the desktop, it takes you back to "press contrl Alt and Delete" window. All network shares can be accessed without any problems, is just the fact that we are unable to log on to the server that is presenting an issue. I have also tried Remote Desktop and reboot the machine but didn't work either. I there any way to solve this problem remotely (…

Remote access using Remote Desktop Connection
by Guest Tristan McElhinney- 1 reply

Hi, I'm posting this here, because I'm not sure it's an ISA problem, can't remote in locally either which someone told me was probably not an ISA problem then. I'm trying to remote into our Windows 2003 Standard edition server and can't get in. Have set up RealVNC and Remote Desktop Connection on identical servers in the past which have been running ISA04 on the same server with no problems. But this one installation is causing me all sorts of problems. I can remote in using the logmein.com software, but I need someone on the other end to send me an invite. The correct ports are open for both RealVNC and remote desktop and if I watch the monito…

I am trying to disable "Warn if changing between secure and not secure mode" and the "Do not save encrypted pages to disk" options in Advanced internet settings. I am able to uncheck the boxes and click apply however next time i go into advanced settings they are rechecked. I am using windows xp professional SP2 on a domain connected to Small business server 2003. I have tried changing the values in the registry and local policy. Could it be a group policy option on the server that is making them re check? if so does anyone know how to change the group policy to stop it, i have tried the allow mixed content and do not save encrypted files options, it s…

Hi! I'm new here, but could really use your help. I've downloaded IE7. My PC is running Windows XP. When IE opens up, instead of going to my homepage automatically, it goes to the IE 7 Welcome page. How do I get rid of that, and just have my homepage open up? Before I downloaded IE 7, my homepage ALWAYS opened first. TIA for any help you can give me.

Using USB Intelligent Stick with laptop (Windows ME)
by Guest bgormley- 3 replies

I'm not sure what the problem is but I've been trying to transfer an Access database to my Windows ME laptop from my desktop using a GE Intelligent Stick USB device. I have Office 2000 installed on the laptop so it has Access 2000 on the laptop. So why can't I open the database when I try to? I keep getting the message 'c:\ohiotraders_be.mdb' is not a valid path, etc. I've tried opening it from the E drive (the external device) and also from the C drive, where I've saved it. Maybe someone will have an answer for this. I want to be able to take this database on the road with me.

These don't happen if I put directly the Title from the computer that I'm accessing through network. Any suggestion will be really appreciate. Working in: Windows XP SP2

Server print queue question
by Guest Jason- 3 replies
Hello, Was hoping someone might have some experience with this: I currently have a Windows 2003 Standard Server acting as my current print server, Operating System is 32-bit. Until recently all my PCs were 32-bit, but now I have a batch of 64-bit PCs coming in. I am planning for their installation, have necessary drivers, etc. However, I was wondering what the best way for printer installation might be? Does anyone know if I can install the 64-bit version of the driver as an "additional printer driver" to the already existing print queue? Or perhaps I can install the same printer a second time and rename it as Printer-x64 or something and share it…

Clone Drive Issue
by Guest Gus Zernial- 7 replies

I'm replacing old WinXP System A by new WinXP System B. I cloned the old system disk to the new system disk, did a Repair install to account for some hardware differences, and the new system boots - BUT, there are some problems. The system disk on the old system was the F: disk and the system disk on the new system is the C: disk, so I find the system/applications looking in the wrong place for stuff. Is there a way to change the system (registry?) on a global basis to account for the fact that things are now on the C: disk? Or if not, can I rename the system disk on the new system as the F: disk? Thanks!
