Disable remote desktop connection security warning
by Guest Guy Yardeni- 3 replies

Hi, I'm deploying a TS solution and automatic client machines so that they auto login and then launch the RDP client and connect to the TS farm. On first connection, they get the security warning because the client drives are redirected to the server. There is a checkbox on the warning to never warn you again for this server, I'd like to pre-deploy this to all client machines - it is stores in a registry key or another place that can be accessed with a script? My servers are Windows 2003 and clients are Windows 2000, XP and XPe. Thanks, Guy

Really Stupid Video Problem
by Guest Franke48@no-mail.com- 7 replies

Although I love Win98 and would not touch XP or above with someone elses computer on a 10 foot pole, I must say that 98 can get stupid once and awhile. Its doing that right now. I have an older P3 700mhz. It came with a built in video card, which would work some days, and other days the screen was all flakey, like all small colored squares with binary code in it. Rather than scrap the whole motherboard, I plugged in a Virge PCI card that I had in an even older computer. Much to my surprise, the video quality and speed was even better and I no longer have that scrambled screen every few days. However, when I first plugged in that card, I had to go online …

Found a new twist on the missing My Documents in the My Computer folder... If the user is anything but an Administrator, they loose their My Documents folder. It looks like it is lost only for any number of users greater than 3 (not including the Guest / Administrator accounts). My 3rd 4th and 5th accounts were madeas limited users and only the 3rd works properly in limited mode. The 4th and 5th will show their My Documents folder only when they are changed to Administrators... The Power User permissions act the same as the limited user (User) permissions. HELP please...I really don't want my kids to get into the registry....

I am using Windows XP Pro with SP2 and using DSL ADSL Roter. I am having a problem with my Internet connection. My main problem (connecting to Net) was solved, from input, which I received from this NG. But I do have another problem. When I am downloading a big file all of a sudden my Net connection gets disconnected . Thus I have to start all over again from the beginning to download the file. Any idea why this is happening and is there any way by which I can stay connected during downloading ? Regards.

Windows XP Windows Explore
by Guest GusGus- 3 replies

When I right click the Start Button and select “Explore,” Windows Explore opens up with the Start Menu highlighted. Is there a way I can change this to having the “C:\” permanently highlighted instead? My Folder tree is so long that the Start menu is off the screen, causing me to have to scroll up to the C:\ folder which I would rather have highlighted in the first place! Any help would be greatly appreciated. GusGus
