Win2k sp4 Sys was having trouble starting, when started in safe mode it showed Exclamation mark on video device. Uninstalled device / reinstalled, booted OK then a few mins later BSOD. No longer bootable in any mode. Ran HD diagnostics,from floppy, which reported failing HD, disk replaced by manu and fitted restored o/s from earlier clone (True Image) Boot hangs at win start up, attempted repair install, using F6 option to install drivers. Floppy doesnt appear to be recognised, no error just doesnt see it.(ie at the insert floppy & press enter) Also tried another floppy drive Tried a win boot disk just get std 'no operating sys' insert floppy msg. I have just installed windows server 2003 standard on a peer to peer network. All of the workstations CAN "see" the server but none can connect to it as a peer. The error message: "such and such is unavailabe. You might no have permission etc." The sever CANNOT "see" the workstations at all. The firewall is off. Can someone help me fix this?

I am propodsing to use the setu disks from: Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2 Utility: Setup Disks for Floppy Boot Install WindowsXP-KB310994-SP2-Pro-BootDisk-ENU.exe and want to know if they will wipe the data from my hard disks? This is due to loosing my monitor drive and also my monitor from the device manager view, resulting in my not being able to now get to my desktop when turning on my PC. I need to download the .NET v2.0 for the ATI Catylist software. I'm currently at version 1. I went to the URL http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/netframework/aa731542.aspx to download v.2 and was presented with too many options. Is that the URL from which I'm supposed to download v2? Wat are they talking about with the different 'version's? How do I determine which version to download? Or, should I be looking somewhere else? Thanks much. Mike

Hi, I installed NET Framework 2.0 in order to use a program. The program still can't run without installing another program, which I don't want to do. I don't and won't need NET Framework 2.0 for the other things that it is used for, i.e., developing code. Since I'm no longer in need of it, how can I completely remove it from my computer? It's not listed in Add/Remove Programs and there's no uninstaller. I created a restore point prior to installing it. I am running Windows XP Home Edition. I installed Picture It on the computer and wish to have this program available for digital photo editing. However, when I right click on a photo file, and select Open With, Picture It is not shown as available. How do I add Picture it to the list of programs shown? -- Don

Having just installed an LG L226WA monitor, the startup button on my xpc SD37P2 has been rendered quasi-inoperative. Whether on reboot from hibernate or cold fire-up, it takes up to one half-hour to cajole and trick my system into getting underway. Anyone know how to fix this?

Telephone service will not start. Get Error 1058: the sevice cannot start, either because it is disabled or because it has not been devices associated with it. Clicked on Control Panel | Phone and Modem Options -- Phone and Modem control panel can not operate. You may ahve a problem starting telephony service. Whenever the PC goes on standby or shuts down, then powers up again, the system does not recognise the webcam. I have an Intel board and chipset. I have contacted the manufacturer of the cam on two occassions and they claim that the only way to solve the problem is to change the IRQs. I have 6 USB ports on board and everything works except the cam. Someone else suggested to upgrade the BIOS. I have had the run around on the Intel site, indentified my motherboard and chipset but there is no way I can sort this out. The only way the cam works is to unplug it (after bootup) and re-plug it.
