by Guest Maurice- 0 replies

After Burning a number of files to a CD I find that the capacity has been reached. I write to inquire about the remaining files. Is there a way to use the operating system to 'compare' what has been copied and highlight what remains to be copied. Similarly, Is there some way to 'span' the files over a number of CDs through though XP professiona? Much thanks for any guidance

Would anyone know, by any chance, what this file is? My F-Secure software gave me a security alert on this application which supposedly was trying to take control of my computer, which I denied of course. I Google it and came up with nothing. TIA for your help.

Guide for Secure communication between client and TS
by Guest Goku 316- 3 replies

We have 2 TS farms both containing 2003 sp2 servers. For the general part the clients are outsiders with windows xp and higher. Also Mac clients are connected with the old and new rdp software from mactopia website. Worried about secure communication between the server and the clients. Want to avoid DoS attacks, dictionary password cracking as well as man in the middle scenarios. As it stands the Encryption level (in RDP-TCP properties) is set to “Client Compatible”. Will setting the encryption level to high be enough to be safe? It is 128 bit encryption. (I am aware of the SSL cert setup but trying to avoid this since the clients are all outsider…

Remote Desktop - display connection bar
by Guest Eric- 1 reply

I used to be able to start Remote Desktop in a mode where the connection bar at the top of the screen disappeared, except when I put the mouse point at the top of the screen, when it would reappear. But I did something yesterday which messed that up. Now the connection bar disappears as soon as I log on, and I can't get it back. When I start Remote Desktop, I go into Options/Display and I un-check the box labeled "Display the connection bar when in full screen mode". Any suggestions.

HOW DO I GET MY SCREEN SIZE BACK TO NORMAL? PLEASE HELP!
by Guest barb124- 4 replies
Somehow without knowing it, I've enlarged my screen size so that when I'm on any websites, they are enlarged and don't fit on the viewing screen ... I have to scroll over to see the right margin, etc. I have tried fixing font size in the control panel, but it doesn't help. I also tried using the zoom feature on the tools drop down menu, but it is a temporary fix at best. Could anyone please help with this? Thanks! -- Barb

Micrsoft Virtual PC backup image of my C: hard drive
by Guest Steve Miller- 10 replies

Hello NG! I haven't found an other more specific NG on the question I want to ask. That's why I'm going to ask my question here. Can I restore an image of my pc with Microsoft Virtual PC so I'll find everything as I left it? I know it's said to function but I hardly can think it's true. I have reinstalled Window several times after hard drive failures or on new computers as well. I made backups of my files and I'm also familiar with restoring these files. Only thing are program settings I had to restore manually, which was getting tiring today ( due to the number of programs installed ). Steve

Folder moves between drives rather than copies
by Guest Paul- 11 replies

I dragged a folder from my D-drive to a memstick drive. Like all other Microsoft Windows systems I used, I expected this drag to copy the folder. Instead, it moved the folder. How can I get the copying behaviour that I'm more use to? I know that Ctrl-drag performs the copying that I want, but I consider it unsafe to have move behaviour in response to an action that normally performs a copy.

How do I copy the folder structure?

When I archive photos downloaded material to DVD, I need the folder structure in Windows Explorer printed on the surface of the DVD. Is there any way to copy and paste the exploded folder structure from Explorer to a printer so as to print this on a DVD? This would save a lot of labelling. Please help, Frank
