by Guest catalina19- 0 replies

I recently got a 2008 Mac Pro from a friend as it was not working, and I’m trying to see if I can get it running again. Turing the machine on shows a solid light on the power button and causes the fans to spin at max, but it doesn't show a display or signs it had booted. https://forums.macrumors.com/attachments/img_3997-jpg.2052984/ From what I have tested, the diagnostic LEDs show the CPUs, Standby Power and EFI working, but no GPU or Power Good. Looking it up, the next step appeared to be to check the board for any shorts or check the... Read more Source: MacRumors

Date, technical details, and pricing if possible. I know this is a big ask but the information is there somewhere. Thank you, Source: MacRumors

by Guest andysa1966- 0 replies

Upgrading from a RX580, Ive acquired an ASUS RX5700 (looks the same as 2 slot reference card), was looking out for a Sapphire that appears to be the same card. It requires and 8 and 6pin auxiliary power. From reading other posts I think I've got the power requirements covered? Ive done a pixla cable mod supplying one 8pin auxilary power plug providing ≤150W For the 6pin I have modded a spare dual mini 6pin to 8pin cable, replaced the 8pin plug with a 6pin so its six 12v into three and six... How long does auto setup take on a new Mac usually...?
by Guest Turnpike- 0 replies

A friend got a new/refurbished iMac Pro, and followed the automatic "transfer your stuff from your old computer" steps before I knew that the new computer arrived. It's being transferred from a 2011 iMac with a Hybrid HD, over wifi, and the old computer had about 500GB of data on it... it's been going all night, and just to be sure nothing is hung up, how long could we expect the transfer to take...? There's no progress meter on the "your data is transferring" page. Thanks in advance! Source: MacRumors

Does the iPhone still even work as a NFC reader / writer. I've tried turning off and on, taking out of cover, resetting network settings and some other ideas, but no joy unfortunately.
