Task manager shows me that of the many applications running on my XP machine the only one using significant CPU resources is "System Idle Process" taking 95 CPUs (anyone know what the units are??). Is there a way to discover what this process is doing, or is a case of shutting it down to see what crashes? Jeff

newbie question

I am just learning about server 2003, and have a few questions that don't seem to be addressed in books. 1. When do I need to have the server in a domain and not a workgroup. I only need to network 5 computers and was told that using a workgroup is much easier. 2. If I use a workgroup and not a domain or active directory, then do I need to install DNS. 3. Why or when would I want or need to go more advance and use a domain, AD and DNS? Thanks, Fitz

Re: Changing screen resolution rearranges desttop ! Downloaded the link from an old PC Mag.com article for the "pcnineoneone" tweak (see below) but have not been able to get it to work. I have a flash drive that I'm editing the MP3 tags using Windows Explorer(Windows XP Home edition w/SP2). Everything goes along well for awhile for a number of the files and then the popup window to edit the tag doesn't show anymore. Repeated attempts are to no avail. I then have to restart. But before Windows shuts down, the Edit tag window will appear but too late - shutdown and restart. Anyone have any ideas what's happening in Windows explorere.

I installed a freeware DVD player and it plays my DVDs just fine. When I insert a DVD into the drive I get the "What do you want windows to do" prompt, but my player is not listed. I am selecting "Take no action" and then I manually launch my player. I don't want to disable the prompt, I would like to add my player to the "What do you want windows to do" list. Is this possible?
