Killing the search suggestions on Google
by Guest letterman@invalid.com- 14 replies

Lately when I type in a word or phrase to search for in google, these search suggestions pop up under my typing. I absolutely hate that feature. All it does is steal my focus of what I am typing. I want to block this feature in all browsers (IE and FF). I know that disabling java script works, but I dont want to do that because it interferes with other functions. Is it possible to block this, or do I need to just find a new search engine?

So, unless this is a document you can edit, and therefore change the text to the colors of your choice, you can print it in...black and white. Epson, HP, Canon, Dell, or whatever printer.

WinXP Pro SP 3 Latest Intellitype app. My 'favorites' keys will not bring up their assigned web sites while I'm using IE7. When I attempt to use them my computer freezes and I must reboot. When applying one of the four assigned keys from a cold boot all is well - I get to the sites I have selected. What must I do to eliminate this annoying situation? -- none

MRxSmb error 8003: the Ghost Computer
by Guest Massimo- 7 replies

I've been getting for a while these errors on a Windows 2003 domain controller, stating a certain machine believes it's the master browser for the domain, and forcing an election; the errors are recurring, and I'd like to track them down. I've looked around for a while, and the main reasons for this error seem to be 1) routers improperly forwarding UDP packets and/or broadcasts, and 2) a wrong subnet mask on the client computer that's causing the error. The cause can't be 1), because the network is flat and there isn't any router around (apart from the default gateway); so it must be 2). The problem: I have the NetBIOS name of the computer that's caus…

Outlook Express problems

Using Windows XP, SP3 recently installed but I don't think this is the cause. 1. I cannot get OE to block Spam. I've tried setting it to delete it from the server, put it in my Deleted Items folder, delete it etc. but it still turns up in my Inbox?? I'm pretty sure I followed the instructions correctly. 2. I discovered that there is is a newer version of OE (OE7). I was previously using OE6. I downloaded and installed OE7 and restarted the computer when prompted. However, when I open Outlook Express and go to Help - About Microsoft Outlook Express, I'm told that I am still using Outlook Express 6 !! What is going on?????

Currently we've setup our Terminal Server on Windows 2008 server. We have already 5 User CALs which is installed on a existing Terminal Server running on Windows 2003 Server (also the AD domain) My Questions are: How do I transfer the existing CALs to Windows 2008 Terminal Server? Is it possible? or Do I need to setup TS Licensing on Win2008 server and then move the CALs from Win2003 Server? or Do I need purchase fresh CALs for Windows 2008 Server? Any solutions would be appreciated Thanks Prakash

by Guest Richhall- 2 replies

Hi, on some workstations we have a lock down for certain users as to what access they can have for applications. When I go with an admin to change settings it only applies to my profile, and is difficult to keep having to logoff a user and logon again. I have created a batch script to get to a command line, is there an exe command for control panel>region settings and start>run that I can run from a command line? Cheers, Rich

Can not access Terminal Server via Remote Desktop
by Guest Adam V.- 5 replies

Hello: I have a Windows Server 2003 R2 running Terminal Services. We have a second location that accesses this server via RDP over a VPN. Everything has worked fine for a couple of years. This morning, no one could connect to the server through RDP (either from the remote location or locally). When it fails to connect, it says "your Remote Desktop Session has ended possibly for one of the following reasons : network problem, admin ended the session, an error occurred . . ." I noticed under Terminal Server licensing that the activation status was "NOT ACTIVATED". I went ahead and reinstalled the terminal server CALs. Then, I noticed the C: drive…
