I've got a Pc that is showing the menu option "Set Program Access and Defaults" in Arabic lettering. No Language packs have been installed on this PC other than the standard XP install provides. Is there a way, aside from reinstalling the OS to get this back? This PC has been running the latest Symantec Corporate AV and we've detected no threats. Any input would be helpful.

Hi there, I have a HDD music player for my car that connects to my PC via USB. However whenever I connect it to a particular port (the only one I have free:-) it disconnects and I get a message along the lines of 'Something has disconnected your device' It works in a different port but that got me thinking - I have had a lot of devices connected via USB at one time or another to the point where my single scanner is now Scanner #3, my printer is #2 etc. etc. Is there a way to see what has been connected to a particular USB port and uninstall or dis-associate that particular device from that particular port? And if I can do that when I plug my scann…

I am running Windows XP Home Edition with SP3. An icon for my online banking website disappeared leaving me only the shortcut arrow. I have tried: 1. Dragging the icon for the website from the address bar - doesn't work. 2. Right-clicked on the shortcut, selected the Web Document tab, then clicked on Change Icon and selected a new icon - clicked Apply and OK. The icon selected appeared on the desktop as desired; however, it disappears after I click on the icon and go to that website, then close the website. How do I get an icon for that website other than just the shortcut arrow? -- Don

Hello, I am working on deploying Server 2008 Terminal Services in a Small Business Server 2003 environement. I have several questions I need assistance with. 1. As I understand it TS CALS are included as part of the SBS CAL. Can someone confirm this? 2. I was told by a Microsoft Sales Support Rep that Server 2008 Terminal Services could be deployed using the SBS 2003 CALs. Can anyone confirm this? 3. If the answers to questions 1 & 2 are both true then can someone help me understand how it needs to be configured to work? 4. What version and on what server should the license server be running? In testing the terminal services work fine on the 20…

I was probably infected by some sort of a virus. When I deleted it (at least I think I am) I'm getting Windows Security Alert icon on my task bar, telling me that my Automatic Updates is turned off. When I click on "Turn on Automatic Updates" in the Security Center, I'm getting the following error: "We're sorry. The Security Center could not change your Automatic Update settings. To try changing these settings yourself, go to System in Control Panel. On the Automatic Updates tab, select Automatic (recommended), and then click OK." When I change these settings manually in the control panel, nothing happens and the Alert Icon is still there. How can …
