TV Tuner Options?
by Guest Charlie Russel - MVP- 17 replies

A friend was asking what the options were for 64-bit supported TV Tuners, and I said I didn't know because I'm a happy TiVo user. But I'd ask here, since I know a few of you have an interest in this area. His options are basically USB or PCI - the only free PCI-e slot is blocked by the monster video card he bought for his son. OS is Vista 64-bit, but could be XP x64 if necessary, I suspect. Thanks! -- Charlie. http://msmvps.com/blogs/xperts64 http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/profile/charlie.russel

TS W2K3 Registration Expired
by Guest jremmc- 3 replies

We purchased W2K3 TS with 10 TS CALs in January 2006. Aren't these permanent and why would our registration expire? (That's the message I got in TS Licensing app when walking thru the licensing wizard after wizard contacted MS Activation Server -- I cancelled out since I obviously was surprised and want to find out reason for expire and Help is no Help at all) TS Licensing app shows the 10 CALs listed in the columns "Total" and "Available" for "W2K3 TS Per User CAl Token" type "Retail Purchase"; however, the "Issued" column shows "Not Applicable". And there's a "Temporary Licenses for W2K3 TC Per Device CAL token" showing with nothing in the Total and A…

Using .ThinPrint to print to a Windows 2003 server using RDP
by Guest BeckyBoo123- 1 reply

Hello! I have several HP T5530 thin clients, running Windows CE 5.0 which came preloaded with Thin Print. After reading documentation from HP I have attempted to configure the Thin Print service on the thin client to enable printing for applications running on a Windows 2003 server, via a RDP connection to the server. In the ThinPrint options I have manually added the TCP/IP details of the printer and it accepted them with no issues. However, when I am in the RDP connection and select print, no printers are listed. Is my server missing some software to pick up the ThinPrint settings on the thin client? I have also made sure that the RDP connection i…

Antivirus / Firewall / Backup software recommendations for 98se
by Guest Zilbandy- 9 replies

I just drug out the old P3 800mhz Dell from the closet, hooked it up and it booted right up. :) Now, all I need to do is get everything cleaned up so my son can use it for some older DOS games and minimal Internet browsing. Does anyone have any thoughts on software... cheap or, better yet, freeware versions of Anti Virus, firewall and backup software? My initial thoughts are AVG free, but I hear that 7.5 is the last version to support 98, and it's not being supported with new updates. I'll probably use and older version of Zone Alarm since that's what it currently has, and it still appears to work. I also am considering Acronis True Image. I have both version 7 a…

Stored Usernames and Passwords
by Guest wmeehan79@gmail.com- 3 replies

We have a Citrix server that until now was not a member of the domain. To overcome this there was a stored password setup under the Admin account, this provided access to the file server on the domain. I've now joined the Citrix server to the domain but i'm having authentication problems. It seems that the Citrix machine is still using the stored login, even tho I did remove that. I've tried disabling the Protected Storage Service, and deleting the reg keys, but that's had no effect. I have no idea where else to look, so any advice would be greatly received. The server is running Windows Server 2003. Thanks Wayne
