I just installed SP3 last night and now my hard drive is nearly full. My PC is older and I have limited space. Are there any files left over from the update I can safely delete to recoop some space. There are a lot of log, pf, query, bmp, gif, etc files. Altogether they add up to a lot of space. Thanks

usb not working.

About 3 weeks ago (may 2008) I found that one of our pc's had lost its usb functionality. Xp pro, installed and running for 3 years. It has a ps/2 keyboard, ms usb optical mouse and occasionally has 2 different types of samsung flash based mp3 players connected. After much fiddling I declared the usb controller dead (pc was 8 years old) and swapped monitor, keyboards, mouse etc to another box running xp pro fresh install. 3 weeks later I have the very same problem on this box. That particular box had run xp pro for 3 years without a hitch with a gaming usb keyboard and gaming usb mouse and a usb external drive with no problems. The symptoms (identical o…

W2K3 Backup Image Software Recommendation
by Guest JohnR- 1 reply

Hi, I have a Dell PowerEdge 2950 with six 450GB SAS discs forming a RAID 10 array of 1.2 TB. I'm running Windows Server 2003 R2 with SP1. I need some software that will create an image of the system on an external disc that I can later use for complete system recovery. I've found Acronis True Image Echo Server for Windows. It's ~$600 and seems like it might do what I need. I'm not very price sensitive, but if I can get something that will do basically the same thing for less, I'd like to consider it. Do you know of any other software I should consider? What if I added the need to make incremental backups to this requirement? Would that push me to a di…

I scanned my PC with Rescuer & of course I had 1000+errors that need to be fixed, for a price of course. My PC has some problems I am sure as its very sluggish, freezes from time to time. Very annoying to say the least. Should I pay the $30.00 & buy this or is there a free one out there also. I regularly "clean" out my PC but is this enough? Need your opinion. Gail
