BAD_SPOOL_CALLER

My computer just started crashing consistently, BSOD with the message "BAD_SPOOL_CALLER" and tech info. Puter is Dell (something I quickly regretted), XP sp2, five user accounts, two with passwords. I am locked out of my personal account off and on, crash unexpectedly when I am in. Ditto admin. I did a system restore from admin, but it did not help. Can anyone shed some light on this. I have been unable to unearth anything useful other than the fact that I am not the only one this has happened to.

Spiralfrog uninstall when not in add/remove list ???

Spiralfrog is taking up 120megs of RAM, more than I can afford. So I want to uninstall it. Their web site says use control panel -> add/remove programs. But SpiralFrog does not show up in the add/remove list. Any idea how to get rid of it? Thanks, Chas' Win XP Pro

Hello all, This morning when I was downloading my e-mail from Windows live mail and my AVG virus program told me that there was a worm in the e-mail I just downloaded. This morning to promo'd out what I believed to be a NT BDC promoted to PDC, then upgraded to Win2000. The demotion I guess went ok, users can log in, no calls etc . . But when I look at our AD-DNS, the old DC is still listed as a name server. When I look at ADSites and Services, he's still listed in my site, but there is no NTDS listed. If I look at Computer Mangement\Sessions there are a handful of users connected, but no open files. And what's the deal in Sites and Services when links aren't automatically created? I forget. But I have a handful of links that were manually created... So - should I wait for my four sites to replicate for that…

As a System Admin, when I go to a folder with Previous Version in W2k3 Server, I go to the previous version tab, then to the Folder Version I want. I select the Folder then press "view", I get the error: "L:\@GMT-2008.08.11-11.00.05\home\CMAPLE\ is not accessible. Access Denied" What am I doing wrong?

Hello, I have an IDE primary drive (c:) and a SATA RAID 1 as programs & data drive. The raid is an intel southbridge raid controller on the motherboard. My RAID contains my d: and e: drives which contain Program Files and all user data. One of the SATA drives of the RAID died. So I purchased a new identical 160 Gig drive and replaced the bad drive. With the intel RAID controller the array is rebuilt in the OS not the BIOS. So I have to boot the machine into WinXP in order to rebuild the array. Ok, so here lies the rub. When I try to boot the machine with both drives installed, windows hangs in the WGALogon.dll. If I remove the new drive so …

Scenario: Dell Optiplex 755 Desktop - re-loaded XP Pro, service pack 2 - had to get Dell's help to re-load Drivers, in correct sequence - now, this computer will not connect to the LAN, (3 other computers and server, thru 16 port hub - the other 3 computers work fine - did NOT re-load them, so original config from Dell) - I can ping the server, but not any of the other 3 computers - cannot 'see' the network to find the printers attached to the server - also, even tho the ping to the server indicates fast ping (<1ms), the one program I can access at the server is extremely slow now, takes ~ 30 seconds to retrieve information from server, whereas before, …

there are 2 usb ports on my computer on works one doesn't, when i put in my flash usb mass storage device it says that the thing can work quicker with correct host controller. when i click on the icon it shows the usb and a free root hub, how can i configure this usb port to work please? Hello. I'm having a problem with Windows 2008 TS and Thin Clients. When my thin clients are using rdp to connect to the 2008 TS it works ace and I get the screen where you are asked for username/password. Right after I've typed that in and hit enter the user will log off. I then have to repeate the prosess 2-3 times and then suddenly it logs on to the TS just fine. I can also be "lucky" and it will log on the TS on the first attempt. I have 3 Windows 2008 TS and they all behave like this. EventID only logs that there has been a log on and a log off from my test user, it says nothing about failed attempts. Does anyone have a idea? Will provide mor…

can't delete file on desktop

I downloaded a file on my desktop which didn't complete the first time. I tried again later and it did complete alright. Now I'm stuck with a 0 byte file on my desktop which I can't delete, even in safe mode: "this file is being used by another person or program". Any idea? Dear all, click my computer -> tools menu -> folder options -> view tab. I want to choose "Show hidden files and folders". But no use after apply as it still choose "Do not Show hidden files and folders" The user is administrator. Why it prohibit me to choose "Show hidden files and folders"? Hi, We need to connect with windows VPN to an external office but receive error 619: I thought the traffic was blocked by our netscreen firewall, but all outbound traffic is allowed. I opened also several incoming and outgoing ports (GRE, PPTP, L2TP, 1723) but that didn't solved the problem. The vpn connection is working perfect at home so something blocks the traffic. On the clients the windows firewall is desactivated. Can someone help? Thank you. Frederik
