Hi, I have to W2K3 domain controllers which haven't been used for a while. When I tried using them today, I got some domain not found errors on the clients. When I looked at the event logs on DC1, I saw some 2042 and 1388 errors. I tried to force replication between both DC1 and DC2 manually and it failed. Following http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc780362.aspx, I went to DC1 and used repadmin /removelingeringobjects to clobber all the directory partitions which were hosed. After I installed SP3 for XP (I'm running the Home Edition), I noticed a new folder: c:\windows\l2schemas My copy of Firefox 3 started doing weird things after a while (fields were the wrong size on websites like Google, so I couldn't enter search terms). After trying several other tactics (rebooting, reinstalling FF3, etc.) I backed up and deleted the l2schemas folder and the problems with FF3 went away. Then, I restored the folder, and strangely enough the problem didn't come back. I've looked and looked to find out what this l2schemas folder is supposed to be for, but can find absolutely NO information about it. I detest and hate not knowing what …

First let me say that my computer knowledge is limited to spreadsheets and Word documents, with a general knowledge of other computer functions. I have Windows XP on my home computer that is used by my son, my wife and myself. My son accidentally deleted his login and account. I created a new one for him but now his files are located in "C:\Documents and Settings\Bobby.BOBBY\My Documents". Previously they were located in "C:\Documents and Settings\Bobby\My Documents". Is there some place where I can go to change the path back to the old one? Thanks for any help you can give me.

i have a Windows server 2003 STD Ed with a Computer Browser service that wont start, any ideas what caused this? It is my Avaya Voicemail Pro server, if that mean something helps. Bob

I keep getting this on startup: Error loading C:\PROGRA~\MYWEBS~\bar\4.bin\M3PLUGIN.DLL I just click OK and it goes away until the next startup. Is there anyway I can make it not come up at all? Jeff

downloaded Spybot . . computer slowed down to a crawl afterwards. . .did a system restore to before downloading Spybot but computer is still slow. . ..are there components i have to remove manually?? If so, where would i find them and how do i do it???? thanks for any help

Hi, Our machine which is running windows server 2003 working fine working fine and able to connect to the internet. I tried to download sp2 to the server. It is in the middle of the installation and stop. I tried to install it again. but now the internet connection failed. I tried everything but could not connect to the internet. I really would like to know what the problem is and how to fix this. Thank you very much for any help.

We have a terminal server set up, every single policy we have has "remove clock from task bar" set to disabled, the policies were forcefully updated (gpupdate /force) yet still the clock is missing on the task bar when a user logs on. Anything else I can check here?

Hi all, I have a question about permissions on a large file server we have at the office. We set up the server with a large drive (d:), and have the default permissions on the root of the volume. We created directories in the volume, and defined explicit permissions, blocking inheritance, and removed all the default permissions barring the domain administrator, the groups that need access to the relevant folder, and the local administrator. We then shared the relevant directories out using share permissions as the relevant groups that need access. Hello, I have a 2003 server R2 SP2. The server service without warning stopped and would not start again. When I tried to restart the Server service I would get a warning that one of the dependent services has been marked for deletion. Another admin in my team went into the registry and removed msicsci as a dependent service for the server service. What is:msicsci? And will removing the msicsci from the dependent list for server service be a long term fix? Thanks
