I keep getting a repeated error window labeled 'sidebar.exe - no disk' and an error message 'There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive \Device\Hardisk3\DR7' with the options Cancel, Try Again, and Continue. I have searched my hard drive for sidebar and have found nothing. What is it? How do I get rid of it? It just started and won't stop. Thanks -GECKO

WindowsXP/HE SP3, OfficeXP/Pro SP3 Hallo NG! I download automaticaly all official updates from MS. But now there is a small problem. I became downloaded the security updates for the Viewers KB 934041, KB943992, KB943889 and Office 2003 KB929064. Following the express-installation i got informed that these 4 updates couldn't be installed (no reason given). Checking the box "Don't show this updates again" (or similar, from german) doesn't help. They are continously shown again as ready for download/installation. What can I do? Installed are: Excel Viewer 2003 (11.6412.6505) SP1 Word Viewer 2003 (11.6506.6505) SP1 Vy 73! Helge -- Helge, DJ1WM

Is it possible to partition SD Card?
by Guest giddyup- 8 replies
I have a Magellan GPS and broke a 128k SD flash card, I purchase a 1gb flash card and the GPS refuses to recognize it. The card works with other card reader devices. I was wondering if the GPS possibly has a limit with the size of card. Because my transflash in my cell phone does work - it is a 128k card. This is why I would like to partition the card so that the 1st partition can maybe be read by GPS. I can not find a flash card that small anymore in stores. Thanks

I'm attempting to reinstall XP on a Dell desktop computer with the Dell oem reinstallation CD but when I try to boot from the CD i get a blinking "_" followed by a normal start up of the system. I have changed the load priorities in the BIOS menu to no avail. I also created the 6 XP SP1 diskettes but when I try to run from the diskette the same thing occurs. According to Dell I should be able to simply run the CD at start up but something is stopping the pc from accessing the CD files. I know the CD and floppy drive are working because I'm able to use them both when I'm logged in to XP and can read the Dell CD when I'm on the desktop. Does anyone know…

Does anyone have experience with these two software for Optimizing WinXP - Glary Utilities (glaryutilities.com) and Advanced WindowsCare Personal (io-bit.com)? If you have experience with them and care to share - how effective and "safe" are they to us in Optimizing Performance of WinXP with SP3? Thanks for any comments. Can't have multiple logons
by Guest Wavey86- 1 reply

My PC won't allow multiple simultaneous logons. I have to logoff one user before XP will allow another to logon. If the first user tries to simply switch user, it simply won't start the other users settings at all (just flicks back onto original users screen, then back to logon screen). I keep auto updates turned on always. Can anyone help?

Disabling Group Policy all together
by Guest Jim in Cleveland- 2 replies

I know this sounds pretty drastic but is there a way of disabling all group policies with one click of the mouse?! I'm troubleshooting a problem and for the life of me and I cannot find the GP that is holding this setting that is affecting a user configuration. I thought if I could stop all the group policies all at once, there would be no guess work in it. I would disable a global setting, make the necessary changes I need to make, then turn everything back on. The change would be on an XP computer in a 2003 domain environment. The issue I'm working on is I need to make a desktop change on a user profile. I've opened up the profile (.man to a .dat) …
