I recently got the new iphone 16 pro (used to have the 14 pro) and the silent mode is making me lose my mind I know that now with the action button I can just make it silent but( at least on my old phone) even when my phone was on silent I would still get ringtones from my favorite contacts (who are all on emergency bypass) However, with this new phone my favorite contacts dont ring anymore when they call me. I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max. Notifications started to silence after updating to iOS 18.2 when phone is placed down. Focus/Do Not Disturb/ is off. Share across devices is off. Apps notifications are on. I have also reset all settings. This is horrible. I am oncall from work next week and rely on this phone. I haven't found a use for any of the currently-implemented features and, while I'll turn them back on for 18.4 to give them a fair go, I can't think of any occasions where anything that's been advertised would be something I'd find useful. But there are lots of little ways that the whole UX could be improved. For example, if I've driven somewhere to exercise sometimes I won't end the workout before I get in my car. I feel like if I get in my car, attach my phone to CarPlay, have my heart-rate drop, and go into driving focus mode it ought to end the workout because it should be able to tell that I'm not actually running at 70mph. I need to get something set up for my mom. She has two ancient PCs and 25+ CDs of various types with photos. I think an iPad is the best device for her vs PC/mac. However where should I put all the photos so she can casually browse them? It would also be nice if there was an easy way for her to get photos off her iphone to some device to free up space. 1-copy all to iPad, use the Photos app (I keep backup copy on my PC or external hard drive) 2-NAS/MyCloud type device. Hi all! I am running operations at a nonprofit and need advice on a good workplace Mac. I personally use an M1 Mac mini + an M1 iPad Pro 12.9 in and love the setup. I’ve had the iPad since 2021 and the computer since 2023. No issues. I got a MacBook Air 2020 (I think), for work and it was a hand-me-down laptop. I prefer it to the HP I was originally using. The ability to use it with my home Mac and iPad makes everything more efficient. However, I think this is a RAM issue (forgive my lack of knowledge) but it is VERY slow. I have a Macbook Air, and in the brightness settings, there's the very last one which should keep it as dark as possible but lately the more I keep it dimmest setting (since I use it for music to sleep, I keep it dim as possible.) Lately, I noticed that I can peek through the left side of the screen and see it brighter than the rest of it in dim brightness.
