I am trying to pick out a macbook for college, but the options are overwhelming. I don't really need anything super powerful, but I definitely want at least 16 or 18 gb of RAM. I don't plan on really playing many games on it, but having a lot of tabs open and switching between them, my email, powerpoints, word docs, etc. Is essential. My budget is around $1500, so I am trying to pick between: 15 inch macbook air w/16GB Ram and 512 GB SSD. I am trying to look into a good defender for my grandmothers laptop. I keep reading that as long as your not doing stupid stuff your mac is safe, but she is constitutionally incapable of not downloading and clicking on stuff. This is the second time this has happened and they got everything. I had to remove 12 flagged chrome extensions. Over the last year, I went on a download spree, trying to find the best apps for my workflow and I think I have mostly settled into what works. Instead of deleting everything that I don't like, I'm thinking about imaging the computer and only downloading the couple of tools. I've enjoyed working with. All of my day-to-day files are backed up to iCloud so I'm not concerned about Losing something critical. Hello, I have a question. Today, I received a MAC from my office. Now, while setting up, I used my office’s email address. However, it is asking a phone number for verification purposes. The question is: if I enter my personal phone number, will that affect my personal Apple ID in anyway, considering that my personal phone is used there. I have a 2 year old MacBook Pro M1 running Sonoma 14.6.1 (I updated it a few days ago). It was running fine until yesterday and it’s not damaged (I never dropped it nor got it wet). Today when I went to turn it on it booted, but the screen didn’t turn on (pitch black, no backlight) so I connected it to an external display and started to troubleshoot. HELP HELP HELP I have a WD My Passport drive that I had set a password for on my old HP (which I no longer have). Now, when I connect it to my Mac (M2), it appears in read-only mode, and I can't create new folders or paste any files. I recently bought a MacBook Air with the M1 chip, and while I know Macs aren’t typically designed for gaming, I decided to try some mobile games like Asphalt 8 that I downloaded from the App Store. The games run smoothly, just like on my phone, but when I try to quit, the games freeze, and nothing responds not even the Force Quit option. I’ve had to press and hold the power button to shut down the Mac multiple times.
