For a few months now my Mac Pro (macOS Monterey + OCLP 0.6.8) has had these problems: When I tell it to shut down, it ends up restarting. It doesn't happen all the time, but it does happen a lot. When I put it to sleep, 99% of the time it doesn't wake up. When I thought I had found the solution, waking it up with the front ON button instead of the keyboard or mouse worked for a while, but when the problem comes, the ON button no longer works. CMPro 5,1 OCLP 1.3.0 or other versions no longer automatically boot and system sits with a black screen after post. Option boot shows EFI OCLP is the default and you can boot that way. Reset NVRAM, set Mojave or Catalina partitions as default works fine. Disabled SIP under Mojave, reinstalled OCLP 1.3.0, blessed the Configure.efi Option booted to OCLP, set OCLP System default (Monterey) nut it still does not restart to OCLP Monterey on its own. Hi folks, could you please help me? Today I’ve fetched a 2008 Pro to replace my old 2008 which has display issues, I suspect the graphics card, but it was more cost effective to buy a whole unit just in case I diagnosed wrongly. Hi guys, I am trying to import digital videos from a video camera (two actually). My brother in law's videos. I did mine years ago. The firewire connection works with a firewire drive, but not with a camera (digital 8 and mini DV cameras - both digitally record via moving magnetic tape). Since 2024 is the 5th year anniversary of the 7,1 machine (2019) I would assume this year would be the last, but I could be wrong. I am pretty sure Apple can't wait to dump support for all Intel machines and clean up the code and get rid of Universal apps and dump Rosetta 2. Source: MacRumors

Can the Mac Pro 5,1 support running 4 hard disk drives in two separate RAID 1 volumes? Right now I'm running two 10 TB drives in a RAID 1 (mirrored) config. I was curious if it was possible to setup a second RAID 1 volume if I added two more drives, or if the computer could only support one RAID volume at a time or something. Thank you. I installed amd radeon 6900xt tuf gaming in my mac pro 2019. 1. Because the video card cooling is too long in the original, I had to make custom cooling for it, which I made from two noctua fans and heatsink. 2. Since the video card gives too little voltage to the fans, they do not spin at full power. How to power these two fans other than the standard power supply in the video card? Any ideas? p.s. after OCLP bootpicker on my CMP4,1->5,1 , it fully shuts off. i’ve tried resetting NVRAM, etc. for some reason it boots into ubuntu and windows 10 installer but nothing else. how can i fix this? I had been running my 7,1 Mac Pro with a single W6800X (non-duo) MPX card in slot 1. I added an RTX 3090 FE into slot 3, and connect the aux power connectors (2 x 8-pin). When I try to boot, the power supply amber light comes on, and the top amber light is flashing the code for "PCIe card error". I'm going to use Open Core Legacy Patcher to bring my classic Mac Pro up to date so I can use it again as my daily driver. I plan on running Ventura or Sonoma, depending on recommendations. I downloaded Topaz Video AI v 4.2.0 several months ago to try it out and it worked fine. Now I see the requirements for Intel CPU must have AVX instructions, didn't see that before. Looking at RX 580 Sapphire Pulse graphics cards for 2012 MacPro 5,1. Everything I read says this will work great, especially if am ok running this without the mac boot screen. There is one detail I am wondering about. I see various pci versions on these cards. This macpro has pci 2.0 slots. Is it ok to run GPU with pci 3.0 connection? Hello Guru, Please I mistakenly removed my project directory while trying to push to github. I am dieing as i type. I removed the directory using rm -rf ~/directorylocation . After seeing the article about the California Digital IDs this morning, I looked at the webpage. One of the videos suggests that Iowa and Tennessee are next to add their Digital IDs to Apple Wallet! Tennessee has not openly committed to adding it, nor has California. I use a parking app on my phone and it has a handle live countdown till you parking expires on the lock screen. I will be traveling for the first time in quite a while, and will be taking my Macbook along for the flight. iphone 12 pro max, lost it at a roller coaster park, I set a temp passcode on it from another phone, then the park took 4 months to find the phone as it was lost below a deactivated roller coaster, by that time I lost and cant remember the passcode. Can I take it to an Apple store with the receipt and have them reset the passcode? Over a year of family photos are on it and were never backed up to icloud. Hi My wife’s iPhone 15 Pro Max battery depletes completely in a few hours. She went to work this morning at 9am with 100% and at 13:00 it was down to 6%. She didn’t use the phone at all during that time. Any ideas? It only started happening a few days ago. My company says I can access Outlook and Teams from my personal iPhone, but I have to install Microsoft Intune Company Portal.
