iPhone 14, iOS18 Wanted to do a backup of my XML data. Pasted all the text in ICloud notes. 4200 lines of data. That's only 192kb To my surprise, when trying to open a note, the app freezes. Uploaded the same text to saved messages in telegram, it saved everything without any problems. Can we please delete the "photos" app and start over? Every time I scroll back to the top of an album I have to exercise the digital dexterity of a COD player to not accidentally close it. And why are those little slideshows (with terrible music) still peaking out from the top even after I chose to hide it? She just sent this screenshot with it being greyed out. Given the 2tb it looks like she’s definitely on an iCloud plan. Would this mean her ex husband has her enrolled as restricted? If it’s a restricted account like a child’s account, can she unenroll or would he have control? I find it distracting to see those icons to the left of each email. There should be a way to turn this “feature” off. Also, it’s pretty annoying that it automatically selects “category view” upon installation of 18.2 — I had to figure out why my emails weren’t in order. It’s not going to be good for the less tech savvy. Edit: As per the responses below, the way to turn off the icons to the left is: Settings > Mail > Show Contact Photos (TURN OFF). I am planning to take a trip to Europe and would like to exercise the additional freedoms afforded to people in Europe while there. This means installing the Epic App Store or other app stores. This is documented on Apple's website. For the last couple months or so, text replacement on both my iPhone 16 (v18.2) and iPad Air2 (v18.1.1) has been buggy. It used to be that text replacement worked no matter how slowly or quickly the text was typed. Now, I usually have to quickly type the (two-letter) shortcut in order to get the text phrase to appear. And sometimes, it won’t appear at all. The shortcuts are syncing across devices just fine. But they sometimes won’t work properly, and sometimes it’ll work in a particular app but other times it won’t. I can’t seem to find any kind of pattern to this issue. I’ve reset the keyboard dictionary but it hasn’t helped. Anyone else experiencing this? Any fixe…

My partner randomly asked why 50+ new contacts were in his phone and asked if I added them. We skimmed through and I only recognized 2 of the 50 contacts. 1 of which was no longer in my work phone because I deleted it like 8 months ago. We are both puzzled and can’t explain why this would have happened. He asked if I manually added them and I said no. A lot of the names I don’t even recognize, but all of the area codes are local.
