I don’t know if you guys remember, but Apple used to name their Motion Coprocessors using a ‘M’ scheme. The first coprocessor was named M7, which was included in the A7 in the iPhone 5S. I’d been using rsync on an old Mac OS 14 laptop as a backup destination for my Synology NAS (hyperbackup). Worked great. Got a new computer with Mac OS 15 to replace the old server. I started with a clean install, followed the exact same process, and now when I try to use Hyperbackup I get an “Authentication failed” error. This happens after it negotiates with the server and finds the module so I know there is a connection. As a sanity check I started fresh on my Mac OS 14 machine and I was able to get it working fine. I have a MacBook Pro from 2017 with a touchbar. Sadly I have a S. M. A. R. T. hard drive issue and Apple quoted me $700+ to replace it. This computer is going to be replaced next year, but for now I’m thinking of booting from an external drive. So the question is which is the best drive for this? I only have 3 days left to spend 110 euros to get another year of Applecare for my MacBook Pro 2021. I've been having a problem. Many of my apps would crash randomly. Most annoyingly my OneDrive, which made a lot of other things stop functioning. My disk was also almost full. I went through a few different processes. I reduced my storage space: deleted caches, logs, downloads folder, trash. Ended up saving 80 GB of space. But still have a "systems data" of 150 GB and I don't know how to reduce that. So I have been trying to resolve this for about the last hour. I have a constant little red notification on my messages app on the dock that won't go away. I am currently running Sequoia. I have gone through the "view" menu in messages and selected to see all unread messages (there are none) and I have manually scrolled through all my messages to make sure there isn't something just glitching as half opened or something. I have also force quit messages and turned notifications on and off in different combinations with the messages app open, and closed. Whenever I pick up my laptop, I hear a loud clicking sound, almost like something sticky popping. It’s hard to explain, but it happens when pressure is applied to the bottom-right part of the screen, around the area above the F10 and F11 keys. iPhone 16 Pro on the latest 18.2 update. If my phone is locked and the screen is off, there’s a small chance that when I hold the side action button to turn on the flashlight, it will not turn on at all despite the UI saying it’s on. Turning it off and on again won’t work, but if I were to turn on the flashlight, then unlock my phone with a passcode or faceid, the light then turns on. I even did a test of taking a screenshot of the screenshot and the result is that indeed every screenshot the system adds saturation to the colours, every day I find more errors in ios.
