I don't recall in which iOS release this was introduced but some time ago Apple elongated the listening period at the end of each user exchange with Siri, just to check there wasn't a follow-up question from the user. I think the intention here was to add 'context', so you didn't need to repeat everything again in small, follow-up questions. They way Apple executed this was simply to leave the listening window open for longer, thereby extending the length of the exchange. So, Siri listens for a seconds after one stops speaking. Curious if anyone has had a similar issue and what your fix was. Last night my wife’s iPhone started doing this thing where part of the screen was turning really light (colors looked like they were kinda blown out/white) but it was only from about the volume buttons down and it would kinda flicker. She went to her home screen and the DraftKings app (which was well below the volume buttons and in the middle of the screen) was not distorted at all along with another app that I can’t remember yet the remainder of the screen was distorted. Asking if anyone knows what is going on here, but I was on the beta for 18.2 and I was able to join Apple Intelligence, see the ChatGPT settings, and setup my ChatGPT account. I’ve had a frustrating weekend trying to figure out what is going wrong here. I can see from Google results I’m not alone in this issue, but basically my wife’s phone IS creating collections for various people in her photos, there’s one for me, our son, here mum & dad, brother, sister, even our dog…. But it absolutely refuses to make one for her! What’s even more frustrating is many of her pictures of herself, I have copies of my phone, and my phone HAS made a collection for her pictures. Hello everyone. I recently upgraded from the 18.2 Beta using Apple Intelligence and ChatGPT for a month or so now to the stable 18.2 release because I was prompted to do so. After updating, Siri no longer glows around the screen and is instead the older version. "Ask ChatGPT" Siri requests also do not work because Siri does not recognize that function. Got a new iPhone 16 Pro Max yesterday and restored from iCloud backup from my old iPhone 13 Pro Max (which is still a great phone BTW!). I had massive issues getting Messages and FaceTime to work, which involved getting a new blank SIM from a store and having them transfer my number across. But an issue is that it's named in Devices within Settings as my old phone. I cannot find anywhere to change this. I've always backed up my apple devices to icloud but i want to save some space. years ago i would backup via usb cable to itunes. is this possible with modern macs natively as part of MacOS? can i then move that backup to an external hard drive? if i ever need to restore via usb C or whatever, can i just restore from that backup from the external hard drive, or move it back to the mac internal and restore from there? I've been having this issue for a few years and I'm at a loss for what is going on. When I open the messages app, click on a person's name, and then open the full list of photos that we have sent to each other, some of the pictures have the screen mirroring logo instead of a thumbnail (see example attached). I’m a bit surprised I can’t seem to find a verified answer for this yet, but can anyone confirm that on Friday, when I pick up my new 16 Pro, I can do the restore from back up data transfer over USB C from my iPhone 15 Pro? I know the traditional restore from backup routes are over local WiFi, or from an iCloud backup, or back in the day using a Mac and iTunes backups. Otherwise, of course when you take a screenshot. The notch isn’t there. Not sure how this changes anything but after upgrading to an iPhone 16 I noticed I tend to mistakenly hit this button when screenshotting. months ago i was happy that apple announced a redesign of their (completely outdated imho) mail app on iPhone, including sender icons. this is one of the features i miss the most and therefore i am using gmail app right now but usually i prefer using stock apps. now, in the redesigned mail app, there are circles for the sender icons but since updating to 18.2 i have never seen a proper sender icon, not even sender icons for big companies like Amazon are being displayed properly like in gmail app. Is this feature bugged right now or is there any other reason why i don't see any correct sender icons at all? submitted by /u/Active-Drive-7749 [link] [comments]

Seriously I don’t remember an iOS being this buggy in so long. It is making me seriously considering alternatives for my next phone. I’m currently on 18.1.1 on my 15PM, and I’m experiencing daily app freezing, the phone crashes (and needing a force restart) at least one a month, the icons regularly takes seconds to load after they enabled those icons customisation. So where do I start? It’s almost been 12 years since I started using iOS and this was the most frustrating experience I’ve ever had with iOS. I’ve always had the best and smoother experience with iOS, but with 18.2, damn I regret updating to it. I have the iPhone 16 pro max and my phone resprings out of nowhere when i open the app switcher. Didn’t have this issue with ios 18.1. - Not all the time, but about 20% While switching the focus modes with different icons are either tinted or in different mode (dark to light or viceversa), the icons in the dock don’t switch to the appropriate mode and just stay as they were in the previous focus mode.
