Hi, just wondered if this is normal on my dual CPU Pro, when I am photo editing, the fans get really loud, and I wondered why, so checked the Temps using MACS FAN CONTROL CPU A reads CPU A DIODE 44 CPU A Heatsink 39 CPU A Core from PCECI 49 CPU B Diode 79 CPU B Heatsink 37 CPU B core from PCECI 99 there is clearly an issue on CPU B where the Diode and PCECI are way more than CPU A, and wondered why this is, and if these temps are driving the fans to max... 13 Pro Max - 5GHz hotspot not working
by Guest Leyf- 0 replies

Hello, I bought my first Apple device a few weeks ago (13 Pro Max) and treated myself with an unlimited 5G data plan. The problem I'm encountering right now is that the 5GHz hotspot doesn't work. Sometimes it shows up on my Windows PC, sometimes it doesn't. When it does, it simply says "no internet" and disconnects after a few seconds. Same thing on other devices, like my old S20+. I'm running iOS 15.6. Thanks for your help! Continue reading...

Fuzzy Camera Image While Trying to Take a Photo While on the Phone - As many of you probably know you can take a photo on an iPhone while speaking on the phone with someone, but it will not allow you to take a video. My iPhone 13 Pro Max has started opening the camera app with an out of focus screen and I'm missing photo opportunities due to this. Has anyone else seen this problem and fixed it? 2013 MP Not Booting and no Diagnostic lights
by Guest rorydaredking- 0 replies
I picked up a trashcan Mac Pro which wasn't booting supposedly as no power. I got a new PSU for it and still no luck, and no diagnostic lights so I then resorted to a new IO board - but still the same. When I press power the rear panel lights up, but no fans or anything else. I'm using a magnet just to the right of the power button to trick the hall sensor. Any ideas or suggestions on how to rectify? It's a Dual D700 12c model so would love to get it working. My only thought at the moment... Read more Source: MacRumors

iCloud Password Reset?

As a preface, please accept my apologies for the long post. This has been such an insane and outwardly hilarious journey that others may get a kick out of this. If it is not a kick, perhaps impetus to move to an Android device. Since, the afternoon of July 25, I have been trying to regain the use of my iPhone 13 “Max.” The iOS’ incessant update password popup, prohibits its use. Although, the popup has two options, “Not Now” and “Settings,” selecting “Not Know” does nothing and thus... Read more Continue reading...

T-Mobile, auto-join WiFi at HomeDepot
by Guest minik- 0 replies

Yesterday I went to Home Depot for an in-store pick up. I took out my phone and noticed the Wi-Fi symbol. I checked the Wi-Fi setting and it's connected to Guest-Passpoint (see screenshot), I pressed the (i) and forget network as well as disabled auto-join. Went home and did some web searching. Computerworld: T-Mobile commits to Passpoint automatic Wi-Fi access; other U.S. carriers mum securew2: What is Passpoint? I have 'Ask to Join Networks: Notify' and 'Auto-Join Hotspot... endless "set titel for synchronisation"
by Guest Triggertrix- 0 replies

Hey there, i don't know since when that problem exists, I reseted my phone because of another Problem. But recently, when I try to sync my phone with finder, everything works fine and then it hangs at 4/5, "set titel for synchronisation" (in German) for hours and days. I read somewhere that it might take some hours when the phone is newly connected (though after the reset) but even over night, nothing changes or any progress is to see. My phone is an iPhone XR on 15.6 and my Mac is a... Read more Continue reading...

Im trying to help a friend out. A few years back, I helped set up his new phone but I had to back it up thru my MacBook coz he had so much stuff on it. So I know his several "million" pics ended up on my Mac. I haven't deleted it but since then I obviously have done OS upgrades. Its important as many of the pics are family pics which include his now passed mum. Somehow he has lost many pics from his phone since then as he has been thru 2/3 phones since. I am limited with my Mac... Read more Continue reading...

How to Enable Encryption in Facebook Messenger
by Guest Paul Horowitz- 0 replies
By default, communications through Facebook Messenger are not end-to-end encrypted, which means that theoretically another party could retrieve sensitive information from the chat if they were nefariously minded. It also means that the conversations are basically wide open for reading by Facebook and whoever has access to Facebook data. If you’re a privacy buff (then ... Read More Continue reading...

2019 Mac Pro + AMD Radeon PRO W6600 — Compatible?
by Guest lem0nayde- 0 replies
Does anyone know if the non-MPX version of Pro W6600 is compatible with the 2019 Mac Pro and the latest version of macOS? I’m looking for a card that can sit in Slot 5 (e.g., only needs a 6-pin 75w power source) so that it can run my display while my more powerful GPUs are used for rendering. The 6600 was the only thing I’ve found that mouth fit the power requirements AND has a macOS driver. Source: MacRumors

Mac pro 6.1 value

Purchase advice. I have a chance to purchase a 6 core 2013 Macpro for $350. What do you think? I know it's no longer supported. Mostly just for general use with a couple of VM's. I know better options are available, but I like the ports available. Or is a headache. Thanks in advance Source: MacRumors

When Intel macOS support ends! Use T2 Linux on 7,1
by Guest exoticSpice- 0 replies
T2 Linux is great. When macOS support ends use T2 Linux. I would say Windows 11 but MS has that TPM bull and I DON't trust Big Tech. Open source is the way to go. WE have the control. Anyway, when Intel support is dead. Use this link for supported Linux on 7,1. You need T2 version of Linux because the 7,1 has a T2 chip which is not open and is a black box. But the Linux commumity wrote drivers for it and now we can access Linux on it. This will make sure the 7,1 will be getting... Read more Source: MacRumors

What Linux Distros do start from external drive?
by Guest xncx- 0 replies

Hi, I was wondering if there are any Linux Distros out that I can put on an external SSD and boot from my MacPro by pressing "option" at startup. I tried to boot the new Linux Mint 21 "Vanessa" and Ubuntu Desktop 22.04 LTS. Both withou luck. Both look promissing as they start to boot, and the splash screen is visible, but afterwards it ends up in black screen. (Just to be clear I do not plan to install it on the internal drive, I just want to boot linux from an external drive.) Has anyone... Read more Source: MacRumors

EDIT: After hours of scouring, I found BootCamp 3 on the Internet Archive. Here's the full link in case the embedded link doesn't work: Apple Bootcamp Support Drivers Version 3 : Apple Computer Inc : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive ____________________________________________ I've acquired an Early 2009 Mac Pro that works rather quite well. I actually got it with a somewhat unusual plan in mind, which was to triple-boot it between macOS, Linux Lite, and Windows XP. It's currently running all three just fine (macOS El Capitan is...
