Hi there, I'm a policy analyst who runs large simulations. I currently use a Precision 7760, with most of my pipelines being sped up by cuDF on an NVIDIA A5000 with 12 GB VRAM. I code primarily in Python, R, and Rust. The GPU acceleration speeds up my simulations by about 70x. I have been seriously considering switching to a MacBook Pro M4. But, I am not too keen on giving up GPU acceleration. Realistically, what are my options? I am not too keen on rewriting a large chunk of my models in MSL to run on the GPU. After the 18.2 update, my dual language keyboard (German, English) was showing way too many special characters when long-pressing; it almost seemed like every possible variation of the letter I long-pressed came up, with those relevant for German somewhere lost in the middle. I managed to fix this by going into the settings for my keyboard, changing to another layout and back to my original layout. Now the varieties of special characters have returned that I had before the 18.2 update. Guys I’m relatively new to Apple ecosystem (mainly android/windows user previously) and one of the things that really bothers me is the keyboard, is so f bad jesus. Anyway, is there a way to stop autocorrect mid-sentence? I mean, when tipping something autocorrect gives a “preview” of the word it’s going to change to, in Android you could reverse the autocorrect by simple typing backspace once but with apple you have to type back and select the word to revert it. I updated last night and every time I have used the new Playground or Genmoji features my phone gets hot. And I’m not talking about normal use heat. It’s like an extreme I don’t want to hold my phone kind of heat. I’ve never experienced that before with any of my iPhones. I’ve been on the iOS betas since their release, using Apple intelligence and playground for a while with the 18.3 beta. When I updated to 18.2 yesterday I was unable to use Apple Intelligence. I’m connected to WiFi and charging but still can’t get Apple intelligence to work. I talked with Apple support yesterday who ran diagnostics on my phone but were unable to solve the problem. I have a Mac Pro 5,1, it is running Sonoma (14.7.1) via OCLP - the latest version released in the last few days (2.2.0). A few days ago I had remote management "working", in that I could see the screen, but it was virtually unuseable because there was a significant lag. My wife went to Pinterest on her phone and on login page the login user ID and PW for a next door neighbor appeared. I went to Passwords app and it says the login info was stored about a year ago. However, we have basically no contact with this neighbor and it is not possible that my wife ever gave her one of her devices to use. This sound fishy because I think the only way this could happen is if the neighbor used one of my wife's devices without our knowledge.
