We have 3x 7,1 Mac Pro's at work and recently installed some dumb PCIe cards and NVME drives because of problems we had with RIAD 0 on the OWC PCIe drives. Anyway our experience has been much better. BUT today we had to delete a bunch of files (about 500gb) to free up some space and we ran into the problem I had on my 5,1 which you helped me with above. I'm running a CMP 5,1 on Monterey 12.4 using OCLP. Booting from an Apple PCIe SSD, dual Xeon x5675, 48gb RAM (6x 8gb sticks), RX580 8GB. Hello - I am using a mid 2012 mac pro tower in my studio. I use all 4 bays with 2 tb hard drives to store all of my plugin orchestral sounds. The drive in bay 2 disappeared from the desktop and finder - so I assumed it was a bad HD. I replaced with a new HD, (intending to restore that drive from time machine) - I rebooted and it is still not seen. My mac pro 2008 after upgrade dual x5482 and 64gb ram, ssd, wifi card, working well 2 years. But at this moment can randomly shutdown. When i turn on it, mac can work, or turn off again after 1-2 sec. When im left 2 memory sticks on top board, mac work stable. All memory was tested, and have no errors. Hello, I have a Mac Pro 4,1->5,1 (it’s the 2.66GHz 8GB model). I have a EVO 860 SSD as well as an NVMe drive. I have a Mac Edition GTX 680 for the graphics. Lately, I have been flashing GTX 680s and refurbishing them. Well, today, I got a red light on the CPU tray. Is it a power/overheating issue? I recently installed a PCIe SSD in my 5,1 cMP. The carrier is a Sabrent Model EC-PCIE NVMe M.2 SSD, £15; and the SSD is a 1TB Kioxia M.2 2280 PCIe Gen3x4 SSD, £66.50. I'm on a budget and the switched fancy carriers are way too much. BlackMagicDesign speed tests gives speeds around 1400 MB/sec for read and write on the PCIe SSD, which is what I was expecting, and around 150 MB/sec for HDs on the SATA bus, and around 250 MB/sec for a SATA SSD. So I had a Samsung NVME 960 EVO as my boot drive in my Mac Pro 5,1 connected via PCI-E working great for about 16 months. A few weeks ago I couldn’t boot and when I tried to reinstall the OS it said the drive had S.M.A.R.T. status issues and could not install the OS. I am having an issue similar to the one I was having with my iPad a few months ago. I bought this iPhone 11 Pro in May off eBay refurbished. When I got it, there was a “battery calibration” message, which has since gone away. Hey guys, so I'm using an iphone 6 on ios 12.5.5. When I save a picture in imessage that I have sent in the past, ios renames the original photo with a new name that's incremented after the last photo in iphoto. For example, in imessage, there is an image sent that says "IMG_5835.JPG" then when I click on that image and on the top right select the box with the arrow pointed up and select "save image" which saves to the internal storage, it has a different name as "IMG_7708.JPG" The last... I've been using the Fantastical app for calendar, but recently want to switch back to the built-in calendar app. However, I noticed that the event notifications does not vibrate - it shows up and produces a sound, but no vibrations either on my iphone or apple watch. I've checked the settings in both the notification section and the sounds & haptics section, (both sounds and vibrations are set) but does not solve the issue. I have an IPhone 11 Pro with 64GB of storage. Currently I have 58.9GB used. Occasionally I experience the phone been sluggish and unresponsive, although most of the time it works great. Yesterday I took the plunge and did a clean install of Monterey on my MacPro 5.1. Everything went well and to my surprise both the USB3 cards and a flashed RX580 worked great from the start. I'm also surprised to see that bluetooth through a cheap WTXUP BCM94360 still works in Monterey. However, WiFi through the same card does not. WiFi (and Bluetooth) still work fine on Mojave. In case anyone is interested I have designed a custom 5,1 PCI fan mount today so just about any GPU will fit, I've been looking at upgrading my 5700 XT (pictured here) to a 6900 XT thanks to the lovely patch made by Syncretic. My 5700 XT is 306 mm long for reference, GPU's up to at least 350 mm should fit. The mount is slim so it will sit behind the GPU if it's longer.
