iPhone has no Internet out of sudden
by Guest YanDev- 0 replies

Hello everyone, I've checked the weird behavior of my iPhone and from my sister's iPhone. The internet just didn't worked yesterday out of sudden and we thought it was just Wlan Router issue. We reset it and it didn't helped either. Connection from other devices (Android Phone, Tablet, iPad, macBook) seems to be absolutely fine per WLAN and LAN. Then we've tried to connect Wlan per macBook Hotspot, that didn't worked either. Internet per Wire from macBook, same result. Then I tried to... Read more Continue reading...

These things are *stout*.

Just an amusing side note WRT cMP reliability. We had a house fire about a week ago, and lost pretty much everything- the fire, smoke, and water damage was pretty comprehensive. My wife and I are fine, and all our pets made it out as well- quite miraculous. When I was able to access the scene to see what might be salvageable, I found that when the ceiling collapsed in my office, it formed a crude sort of drywall tent over most of my computer gear. That protected it from most of the direct... Read more Source: MacRumors

Wondered if anyone can help with this? Phone bought outright via Amazon, so no Network lock etc I can't receive international calls for some reason; I had a call earlier today from a company in Ireland and they couldn't call me on my personal number; had to give them my business number on a Samsung handset instead I've looked in settings and in 'phone' but can't see anything that would stop this; all numbers are allowed Any suggestions? Cheers Continue reading...

by Guest liontamer67- 0 replies

Hi. 1. When I add a new contact (iPhone 11plus) it goes into my gmail. How can I either get it to sync or what steps would I take to add it to the other contact lists like iCloud? Or the All Gmail account? 2. For past contacts how to I add and sync? 3. The contacts on my Mac air seems like a whole other animal to sync also. Or is there a 3rd party that can help me sync? I also need to delete a lot of names that my ex husband put on my phone. Yes he thought we should share all. Thank... Read more Continue reading...

Google calendar invites in iOS calendar inbox?
by Guest mikosk- 0 replies
Started a new job and they use Google Workspace/GSuite for their office apps. I'm using my personal iPhone and anytime I get a calendar invite, it won't show in the calendar inbox. Is this still a known issue of incompatibility? I can create invites in the calendar app, accept them in the google app and they show in the iOS app, but no joy in the old calendar inbox. Anyone got a fix for this one? Continue reading...

How long can I still use a Mac Pro 2010?
by Guest Defever- 0 replies

For me, it's not possible to upgrade beyond Mojave and now I don't have security updates anymore. Open core is too complicated for me and I doubt whether it run Monterey. I have a Mac Pro 2010 with a lot of upgrades (6 core CPU, SSD's, a Metal graphics card and an USB 3 card). I have considered to buy the Mac Studio base model but I am not sure about the fan noise and I'm gonna miss Photoshop CS6. Is it still safe to continue using this Mac Pro for browsing the internet? Or can I save much... Read more Source: MacRumors

iPhone iCloud name changed automatically
by Guest Quackington- 0 replies
Hello. I've noticed today that the name for my iPhone has changed from either iPhone 13 or just iPhone (I forgot), to iPhone (3) - this is what my earphones announce when I connect them to the phone, and also when I got to Settings > Apple ID and it lists my devices. The iPhone is listed as iPhone (3). I've gone to Settings > General > About and changed the name, and it's updated there successfully, but when I go to the Apple ID section, it still shows as iPhone (3) and it also shows that... Hey all. I Have a 4,1>5,1 running on mohave with an affinity to panic. I haven't figured out why, thought it was my NVME pic but I removed it and its still crashing. Sometimes it crashes while working on music but other times it crashes while idle. It crashes more often when using the computer. Can anyone decipher this? I have saved other reports but USUALLY it says "9 error reporting banks" Mon Mar 28 09:10:57 2022 *** Panic Report *** Machine-check capabilities: 0x0000000000001c09... Read more Source: MacRumors

How to find out which processor my Mac Pro 6,1 originally shipped with
by Guest ScammerAlert- 0 replies
Apple offers trade ins for these Late 2013 Mac Pro's but what I've found is that they seem to only pay based on what the computer originally shipped with. I have bought several of these Mac Pro's over the years and by doing serial number checks you can see manufacture date but not what that computer was spec'd with from Apple. They denied me the original trade in estimate because they say that my computer is a 3.7 ghz quad core even though I know it has a 2.7 ghz 12-core in it. They kept... Read more Source: MacRumors

High Sierra native support for 10Gb ethernet
by Guest mikeboss- 0 replies

starting with macOS High Sierra 10.13.2 there will be native support for Aquantia AQtion based 10GbE network cards. digging around in the latest developer beta of 10.13.2 revealed a KEXT named "AppleEthernetAquantiaAqtion.kext". path to the KEXT: /System/Library/Extensions/IONetworkingFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/ this has to be the 10GbE NIC of the soon to be released iMac Pro. it might be easy to get 10Gb ethernet in the near future... possibly compatible cards: ASUS ROG AREION 10G... NVMe PCI drives disconnecting after startup
by Guest kkinto- 0 replies
Since yesterday when these drives disappeared and the "didn't eject properly" notification came up, they now do the same almost immediately after booting and are no longer accessible. They don't appear in disk utility but system info shows the card is present in the PCI section. Any ideas on how to solve this? As they are registered as internal through the OC I can't find any way to try and re-mount them. Thanks Source: MacRumors

Thinking about finally upgrading my 5,1 MacPro to a Mac Studio. Change my Mind.
by Guest AnimeFunTv- 0 replies

So I've been debating with myself about the possibility of upgrading my daily MacPro 5,1 for the new Mac Studio. The reason for the push is because while I currently use OpenCore running macOS 12.2, it seems to me it's going to get increasingly harder to update to new OS's or quite possibly no longer will be able to. (ie. ongoing issues with OpenCore & macOS 12.3) One of the main reasons I bought my first Mac in 2006 (MacPro 1,1) was to get away from all the patching and hardware... Read more Source: MacRumors

Radeon VII failure Rate.
by Guest Matty_TypeR- 0 replies

Was thinking of buying myself one of these cards again for my mac pro 5.1 but reading around the net it seems these cards are failure prone with Code 43 hardware failure. some even selling failed cards for silly money on ebay. crazy stuff who would want to buy a bricked card. has anyone else noticed this with the radeon VII cards, or experience of it happening to them? Can your iPhone be compromised by simply opening an email?
by Guest AthleticAspergus- 0 replies
A legitimate email I received went to my spam folder so I opened it and re-assigned it to the actual inbox. However, once I did that, the email app automatically opened the next email in my spam folder, which was a clear scam. If I didn't click on any link and immediately closed it, am I fine? If not, is there anything I should do? This is probably a dumb question, but I'm new to iOS and I'm not the most tech savvy person... I have an iPhone 12 with the most recent version of iOS. Thanks Continue reading...

Confused about iMessage with Dual SIM
by Guest mc510- 0 replies

When I go overseas, I will tell my main mobile carrier to block international roaming, and then I will install a data-only eSIM for my destination country. So I'll be using the foreign eSIM for all data, and my main mobile phone number will doing WiFi Calling using the eSIM mobile data. Okay, but what about iMessage/FaceTime? I understand that I will need to tell iMessage/FaceTime to use either the main SIM or the foreign data-only eSIM, but I am confused about which one I should select... Read more Continue reading...

Alternative to YouMail?
by Guest DominikHoffmann- 0 replies
I have been using YouMail for 15 years. YouMail replaces your cell provider’s voicemail box with its own. It’s service with a free and a premium plan. Until recently the free plan included the feature that sent voicemail messages to my email inbox. I like listening to my voicemails in the Mail app and not just on the phone. Problem is, this feature has recently been discontinued for the free side of the service. Is there an alternative to this? AT&T does not offer this option for their... Read more Continue reading...

Migrating to a new phone?
by Guest BuddyRich- 0 replies

Just got a new iphone 13 in the mail today... Its been a few years since I had to migrate... what is the best way to migrate and what exactly is migrated... the biggest thing would be setting up the Apple Pay stuff and ensuring my Apple watch syncs to the new phone... if it does... I would imagine a lot of 3rd party services/apps don't migrate over with uid and password though I should have them all in icloud. Continue reading...

Radeon VII in the 7,1 Mac Pro
by Guest PowerMike G5- 0 replies

I currently have a Radeon VII in my cMP that I am thinking of porting over to the 7,1. Although I was planning on the Radeon Pro Vega II option, I'm starting to wonder if it makes more sense to port the Radeon VII and even just install a 2nd one. From my understanding, it seems that the Radeon VII is very close in spec to the Pro Vega II. Basically the same GPU with half the VRAM and 4 less CU, but otherwise the same hardware. I could get another one for like $500 and have a dual setup... Read more Source: MacRumors

Hey. So I have a mac pro 1,1 3,1 and 4,1 at my job. Recently upgraded the wifi card of the 4,1 so we can get handoff/airdrop. I don't want to buy another card for 3,1 or 1,1 if I don't have to. Don't need handoff for either machine, just want to be able to use the apple keyboard and mouse (since we already have extra sitting around). Can I use the stock bluetooth card originally in the 4,1 and put it in the 3,1 or the 1,1? Source: MacRumors
