Hi, I'm currently transferring my system from a Mac Pro to an M1 16 MBP (8TB disk). I have a loooot of stuff (6+TB) on different SSD and HDDs on the Mac Pro and I'm not using any external drives. What's the best way to access the Mac Pro drives from the M1 so I can pull, categorize and organize everything whilst also decluttering? I don't have Airdrop on the 5.1. and no FireWire connection on the M1 for TargetDiskMode (would that work with an adapter/dock?). Dropbox / online sync is too... Read more Source: MacRumors

Long story short: I was in the process of cleaning the processor board, CPU’s, reapply new paste, verify and clean the Northbridge heatsink and rivets, reapply new paste to the Northbridge CPU.....when the wire with the sensor under the Northbridge heatsink came off, it was so dry it just fell down. My Dilemma Now: How to “glue” it back in place? I have strong glue for the wire but for the sensor itself, I have no idea, what should I use to keep it back in place? Any help is appreciated... I got a Mac Pro 4.1, and have flashed it to 5.1 Replaced the original graphics card (GT120) with a Gigabyte RX 460 (4 GB version, https://www.proshop.se/Grafikkort/Gigabyte-Radeon-RX-460-OC-WF-4GB/2562561) I simply cannot get the DP to get working, tried two cables to my Dell U2515H (DP-DP and DP-mDP) but the monitor says it gets no signal. Ok so I’ve installed opencore onto my NVME drive on my 5,1 - I’ve got the bootpicker up and everything is working seemingly as it should. Can I add normal installs of macOS into the boot picker? When I install my other drives into the machine it reverts to booting from another non-opencore partition, and won’t give me to option to boot from the NVME in the OS. Hey all, I wanted to pick your brains on something I'm running into with my Mac Pro 3,1. I have am running Yosemite on a 2008 Mac Pro. I have a Velocity duo card with 2 Samsung 850 Pro hard drives. Hi everyone, I’m having some problems after upgrading my phone. I'm on ios15 on my phone now, and Monterey on my mac. I use a gmail e-mail address. I want to not have to use icloud and have contacts locally on both my mac and iphone, and synch these with lightning cable when needed. Hi every one, I have been given a sapphire nitro RX-590 + 8g which i would like to fit in my mac pro 4.1, flashed to 5.1 to replace a GTX 680. The RX-590 has 1 X 8 pin connector and 1 X 6 pin connector. What power cables are required to power the RX-590? I see dual 6 pin mini to 8 pin, do you not use the 6 pin on the RX-590 card then? I am looking into upgrading my Mac Pro 6,1 from the original 1TB SSD to a Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB. I have read a lot of recommendations saying to use the EKWB heat sink with it. Many of the reviews for EKWB heat sink state that it’s very hard to get both clips on the Samsung 970 EVO. After installing Monterey 12.2 (upgraded from 12) my mac pro no longer has sound, and the bluetooth audio device is very choppy which wasn't before. Any ideas? Something I miss? Do I need to run any post install stuff? I mean the average active use time per day (to be seen unter settings->battery, if you switch on 10days overview) Mine doesn't go above 6hrs, which seem pretty low. I'm on a family plan with 3 iPhone 12's. AirDrop was working fine on all three, but recently one of them stopped being able to send anything to one of the other two.
