I have this macbook pro 2017 the model number is a1708 and i just opened it after months now the keyboard and trackpad is broken and the battery is not charging super laggy the on the activity monitor the kernel_task is using almost all the cpu idk why on the keyboard the power button is working and I think the SMC is need a reset but i cannot do it because the keyboard is broken submitted by /u/DependentEducation34 [link] [comments]

I have two MacBooks and would like to know how to set them up with my two monitors so I only need to plug/unplug one cable to switch between them (one is for work, other is personal): Here's my equipment: MacBook Air 2020 MacBook Pro 2023 M3 ASUS ProArt Display PA279CRV 27 inch monitor BenQ GW2785TC 27 inch monitor Logitech Bluetooth keyboard and mouse (can be used via USB also). Currently I go USB-c out from one laptop and HDMI from the other and then plug both into whichever Mac I'm using. My 2017 MacBook Air i5 suddenly wouldn't turn on. I brought it to the Apple Store and they did a few tests, and they said it needs a new logic board. Of course they quoted some ridiculous repair cost, like $450 or something. I looked on eBay and I can get a used logic board for $100. However, the Apple employee said something along the lines of "You need a new logic board, or a used one that has been factory reset by Apple. The device will not work if you just buy a random one" Is this true? None of the eBay postings mention a reset of any sort. I don't want a new laptop, I really don't do anything crazy on it. Watch some YouTube videos, write some essays, etc…

So I made the dreadful mistake of switching to LycaMobile, where customer service goes to die. i am not able to get my PAC code by texting PAC to 65075. The message just fails to send. They won’t give me a PAC via email and it’s pretty much impossible to phone them. Any suggestions where to go next? Annoyingly I have seen on Twitter that someone else did manage to get the PAC via text so apparently it’s just me who can’t use that service which makes me hate them even more! Continue reading...

The title pretty much sums it up. Some bug in iOS 18 prevents the newly restored iPhone from registering the NFC device to sign into my icloud account. In essence, I'm locked out of all my stuff unless I go online and look at icloud.com. Can't downgrade to iOS 17 where NFC works and then sign in because Apple has helpfully stopped signing it. This wasn't a problem for me until ios18 and every time I look it up I only find threads about previous ios versions. Randomly apple music will decide to skip a song part way through. There isn't any pattern I can recognize, and it doesn't skip after the same amount of time for each song. However, if I do go back and try to replay the song it just skipped, it will continue to skip it at the same point. If you don’t have mobile data during calls this was always the first toggle to switch on. Hello, So in the health app I have a sleep schedule and it is linked to my sleep focus. Is it from Monday to Friday from 11pm to 10am, then Saturday from 11pm to 9:30am, and Sunday from 11pm to 10am. I’m having this problem where it turns off at 8am every single day. I went into the focus app at 9am and whenever I change the wake up time to like 12pm it turns back on, but when I change it back to 10am it turns off even though it’s 9am. It’s bothering me because I have a shortcut that whenever sleep turns on, my ringer turns off, and when sleep turns off, my ringer turns on. Anyone know a fix? I have a 16pro max, 18.1. And have noticed in last day or so that the reddit app is being weird. If I am on a main page, a whole bunch of random threads simply won’t open. Especially ones at the top, but not failing or working all the time. They aren’t closed threads, or deleted one and it happens across pages. They work on in browser. Anyone else noticing this?
