I lock down many apps on my phone with the feature lock or hide an app with Face ID. I love the extra security it offers. My question is in the event of my death, how would a family member gain access to an app that has been locked down with Face ID? It appears the only way to unlock an app that is locked with Face ID is with Face ID. But after my death, that won't work. Are there any other workarounds to this? Can Face ID be disabled system-wide, thus also removing the Face ID lock that are locking down the apps? submitted by /u/Ward0-0 [link] [comments]

Scenario: iPhone 16 Pro Max with latest iOS - 18.1. I set alarm for some hours later. Phone locks after normal inactivity interval. When the alarm time arrives, it goes off just fine. I decide I want 9 more minutes and hit snooze. But the alarm doesn't sound again after the 9 minutes, and in fact, the 9-minute snooze timer doesn't even start until I happen to wake up and unlock the phone. This happened with my 15 Pro Max too. So updated to 17.6 beta. There were constant popups and Minecraft wasn't installing, so yesterday evening I decided to update to 18.1 just to try it out. Now I'm constantly having network issues with Safari. 4G connection, all four bars, so not about my network, it's a Safari problem. Websites don't load at all or take an enormously long time to load. In theory a great feature since have previously used the clunky automation to lock the phone when opening app, however despite what the pop up advises when setting app to require Face ID, no prompt for a passcode if that fails. Super frustrating as had planned to leave passcode for family in event of emergency and I can’t unlock the phone. Apple support no help - bug? Anyone else have issues? Running on 13 ProMax. I extracted the audio in .m4a form on my Mac (2024 M3 Air) and was able to add the audio into Voice Memos, but than I get this message "Couldn't transcribe video" (iPhone 16).
