  1. If able to get into Safe Mode,I would check Device Manager for corrupt or missing Drivers first.
  2. After installation and you have Desktop Screen. Select Start > Right Click on My Computer > Select Manage > Select Device Manager. Any that have yellow question mark,click on the + Icon and from the drop down,Right Click on, and select "Update Drivers" Follow the prompts. Then go to manufacturers Site and get latest Drivers for Graphics Card
  3. Hi. Maybe a silly question, Deb,have you taken the disc out of the drive? That will cause your symtoms. Can you Boot up in Safe Mode. Tapping F8 ?

  5. Nothing just happens,unfortunately. You have to know how to install an Operating system. You also have to have the Product Key ready for when asked. Unless you study some XP Install Tutorials,I think this is over your head.:) The easist.Give it away without a Hard Drive.
  6. Another option is to go into your Control Panel,open your Display Control Panel. You should find under Rotate Screen,a number of options,eg: Portrait-Landscape etc HTH.

  8. Hi Theo,Welcome to FPCH. Open Device Manager and uninstall your Keyboard Drivers. Reboot and install latest Drivers. Scan with Malwarebytes. Scan with GMER and post Log,so Malware Specialists here can check. I have a feeling this could be a Rootkit causing this.   14. ADSL/2 will be faster,however being a distance from the Post Office will slow the download speed down a lot. I was promised up to 20MG and because I am 6 KLMS from the post Office,I can only get 5 MG. So a good Modem/Router is important.

  16. I agree.Out of 4 modem routers I have used, the Netgear DG834PN was the fastest. It was on average 200KB/S faster than the others. I found the netgear a bit of a pain to configure. I am 6Klms from my post office on ADSL/2
  17. Another Option, Kay, would be to leave a sticky Note on the Desktop.

  20. SHIFT + DELETE is pretty final. Make sure you don't want it back first. Files still can be recovered,but it's a PITB,to recover them. I prefer the recycle bin,unless it's a huge File.I want to delete.:)
  21. I would also check the Bios, to make sure your HDD MODE, is set to compatability.

  25. Hi ajackson269. How to turn off Windows Media Player. 1 Click on Start 2 Click on Control Panel 3 Find "Programs" Icon. 4 Click on "Turn Windows Features On or Off" 5 Find "Windows media Player" and uncheck the box. Need further Help,feel free to ask.:)
