You can disable Mail Fetcher by following these steps... Log into your Gmail account. Click Settings at the top of any page. On the Accounts tab, find the Get mail from other accounts section. Click delete next to the account you wish to disable.

Tthese are both free data recovery programs. I have used ( Drive Rescue ) a few times with decent recovery. I have not personally used (PC Inspector File Recovery) it was recommended on another site.
