  5. Hi Inferect. Please try our malware removal procedure: Malware is software designed to infiltrate or damage a computer system without the owner's informed consent. It is a combination of the words malicious and software. The expression is a general term used by computer professionals to mean a variety of forms of hostile, intrusive, or annoying software or program code. Required Cleanup Steps Disable the Spybot Search & Destroy TEA TIMER if you use it and if it is enabled Run a Temporary file and cache cleaner (ATF) Run 2 Anti-Malware scanners (Listed Below) Run an Online Anti-Virus / Anti-Malware Scanner (Listed Below) Clear out old System Restore points If continued Malware type activity is present you may be asked to post a TrendMicro™ HijackThis™ Log file, do not do so unless requested. The reason to run multiple scanners is to ensure that no single scanner is missing something. The time it takes will vary depending on your system and your internet connection speed. Typically the SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes scanners will take between 10 to 90 minutes. The ESET online scan should take between 1 to 3 hours. In most cases, these scans will suffice to clean and disinfect your computer. Heavily infected systems or slower PCs can take much longer to scan and clean. 10. You're welcome Randy. Although with now over 12 million users, it's starting to get targeted by various means.
  11. I remember another TV "remote" that was of the wired variety. It had about 60 buttons on it that represented each channel. Along side each button was a dial to fine tune the frequency. I played with all those buttons and dials for hours.
  12. SAS is designed to run in Safe Mode. I used to do it all the time until they came out with Direct Disk Access. SAS will not install in Safe Mode however.
  13. Too many with my wife:D I used to have a Sony Beta and liked it much more than VHS. My first TV Remote had for 4 large silver buttons that clicked very loudly. I think it worked off sound instead an infrared or radio signal:)

  20. It's more than just annoying, but rather prohibitive to a proper disinfection. SD is old and deficient software that has been replaced by SAS and MB.
  21. I recommend NOD above all other internet security suites, but the claim of "nothing gets past it" is a stretch. I can post logs to show malware that NOD doesn't even see, let alone remove. I state the same for ALL antimalware applications. Knowledge of the Trojan Horse type infections, combined with layered protection is by far the best defense.
  22. Hi Nev. I disagree that AVG is "good' in the sense that it is highly targeted. Avira is a much better choice for a free alternative (at this time).
  23. Just use IE7, as there is no significant difference.
