    Hi fisherman. Did you uninstall IE8 beta? I don't recommend using beta versions as they are still in the testing phase and can cause problems. If you have not uninstalled it then I would suggest trying a system restore to before you installed it versus an uninstall. Even an uninstall may go badly on beta products. For that matter if Gokus suggestion doesn't work and if you are going to use system restore anyway choose a point to before IE quit working. It's worth a try.

    I use Mcafee Site Advisor too. It works with IE and Firefox.

    We are all well aware of the nature of the political system. However this election proves that in spite of that the American people will never give up on our country. Hopefully Obama will strive to better then the rest. That being said It is my belief that he is the best hope we have seen in a very long time.

    geoff your best bet is to purchase the DVD's. Check with the manufacturer as you may be able to get it cheap there. This way you will always have it should you need it again.

    A slow running computer is usually caused by malware, too many startup items or a failing hard drive. You could run chkdsk to see if there are any errors. Open Computer and right click the hard drive. Click Properties. Click Tools. In Error-checking click Check Now. If you just want to see the results of the scan and not fix anything uncheck both boxes and click Start. If you want it to find and repair physical errors on the drive select Scan For and Attempt Recovery of Bad Sectors. What is the make and model? What security do you have? Did you install any programs before this started happening?

    It sounds like a setting in your kaspersky firewall. Perhaps Anti-Banner. Or it could be your suites Parental control settings.

    Thank you everyone for taking the time to post on this. It's good to know that there are people all over the world who still care about world issues and the USA too. History was made and hopefully it will be a turning point for us all. I've waited a lifetime for the people to see the light. Hopefully this is a new beginning.

    Except for a couple brand names I agree with Tootech. Don't forget the level of support on some brands Tootech. HP free support is good no matter how old the system. You have very little support on a self built.

General Error Messages : JavaScript / Flash Player error - YouTube - Broadcast Yourself. I would run the uninstaller, reboot then reinstall from the stand alone installer. But read everything and try everything.

    What is the audio device in device manager. Is it Realtek. If so what is the version? Try the Acer European site for your model and download the audio drivers and orbicam software and the Bison drivers for Vista since you posted in the Vista forum. If the computer has XP download the XP versions.

    If you deleted the partition with XP on it I don't understand how under XP you can see the backup. Which backup? The Vista one? In any case if you can't set it back to the factory settings from the hard drive you'll need to do it from the recovery dvd's. Did you create a set? If not see if they can be ordered for your model. List of Presario CQ50 models. When setting up a dual boot system always install the older version of Windows first. Also as your hardware is newer there likely is no drivers for XP for some components.

    This is a long shot but it won't hurt anything. Create a new Administrator account and try running SAS from that account.

    I was just wondering if you have a usb external drive or a thumb drive hooked up while running the repair.
