  1. FRAPS is also good for capturing images from games, I am sure you can use it for DVD too.
  2. The wires from the case to the MOBO are in the wrong positions, or the MOBO or PSU is toast. I refer to these, make sure that they are all the right way - notice the + signs on some of the pins for positive. http://www.data.sg/pics/front_panel_connectors.jpg
  3. I use:- NERO Alcohol 120% Thats it burning wise
  4. Right - its SATA so forget about all the jumpers as ALL SATA drives are MASTER. When you plugged the drive in and started windows - did it say that it was installing device in the bottom right in a bubble? We need to start from the beginning as you are going nowhere fast, with Vista the drive should work 'out of the box'
  5. It can also be attributed to you not having admin privelages - it tries and installes the update and when you reboot it hasnt and keeps trying
  6. I always use NERO for DATA and music disks, It is the best software IMHO as it has basic and advanced settings.
  7. It sounds like you have either put the battery in the wrong way round - you need the FLAT side of the battery with all the writing on facing the side case panel that you took off Failing that when you installed the MOBO into the case - did you connect the CASE wires to the MOBO in the right pins?
  8. Or just buy a controller card that supports JBOD
  9. You need to see if its recognised in My computer first
  10. Open a command window and type ipconfig/flushdns restart and see if its ok
  11. The problem you have is that when you turn your PC on its taking the first IP address normally ending in 1 if you then try and start the lappy it too is also trying to use the first IP address, but it cant as the PC is using it. There are a few ways around this - the settings in the router need changing. Leave the PC off and then try and connect with the lappy
  12. Performance and PC World
  13. The only thing I can think of is that you bought a controller that does not support JBOD and just RAID
  14. Take the side off the PC - are there any lights on the MOBO?
  15. Hi, Welcome to FPCH :)
  16. Right - when you 'flash' the BIOS all the settings that were stored in it get reverted back to factory Pop the CMOS battery out and leave it 30 seconds and then reinsert it, and power up the PC - enter the BIOS and check that all the settings are correct - you need to set the first BOOT device to HDD. SAVE and EXIT - and post what happens
  17. On the lappy open a command window and type ipconfig/all Please post ALL the fields on the TOP connection
  18. LOL - amendment to above - its not the ISP as the main PC is working :o I really must read more. Its the settings of the router or the lappy - thats it
  19. Must be in preperation for the OS
  20. And if that does not work - take the router out of the equation and connect directly to the modem and see if that works. If it does then its the settings on the router, if it doesnt its the connection from your ISP
  21. You will lose the PC connection to the internet. when you plug it in the back of the lappy does it work?
  22. I still think the best one was the one where the guy was bouncing a tennis ball and he drop kicked the dog between the posts - was for a footie advert and needless to say banned VERY quickly YouTube - Dropkick Dog
  23. Right - pop an ethernet lead in the back of the router and connect that to the lappy - does the internet work now?
