  1. Hi, Welcome to FPCH :)
  2. You can also use a USB stick for this
  3. The thing with NERO is there are 2 settings, you have the basic and the advanced, just be careful if you decide to play with the advanced settings :D
  4. Hi, Welcome to FPCH :)
  5. In addition to the above can you tell us the make and model of the PC or laptop you are using
  6. I take it that you have more than one PC connected to the router?? sounds like an IP conflict to me
  7. As Bonnie has already said 9/10 when a drive spins a disk but will not burn or anything its the firmware that needs updating.
  8. When you say that you checked for software updates in your other thread - did you look for firmware updates?
  9. On the link that you provided it doesnt say that its supported the nearest to what you said (R1938) is an (R1908) It does say however that it supports Easynote R1,R2,R3,R4,R5,R6,R7,R8 and R9 Series
  10. If you list what components you have in your system then we will have a better understanding if there are any hardware conflicts
  11. Hi, Welcome to FPCH :)
  12. Randy, As you know im not on over the weekend much, we cant exactly put Randy Bday in the reminders Belated Birthday wishes mate :)
  13. Glad you got it sorted :)
  14. Do you mean its minimized off screen, as I have seen this a few times and you just need to right click on the drop down bar and select restore
  15. Doug, Nero is the best for 'DATA' disks IMHO
  16. Also check the CMOS clear jumper is set right.
  17. So the CDROM is on an IDE yes? Ans the HDD is connected to an add in SATA controller. You can buy an IDE to SATA converter but they are expensive - go and buy a small IDE HDD and install the OS on it - when its installed windows update will get the drivers for the SATA controller, or install with the disk that came with the controller. Your other alternative is to buy an external case for the HDD that supports USB, but there is still no guarantee it will work on your MOBO
  18. If your PC is that dirty inside that you have to take it outside, I would advise that rather than stopping outside, you put the PC in your car - drive to the nearest tip and launch it in there  Anyone that has to take their PC outside as its that dirty inside needs slapping with a big fish :D
  19. Most controllers require drivers from within windows. Do you actually have SATA slots on the board? What OS are you trying to install?
  20. Hi, Welcome back to FPCH :)
  21. We dont mind in the slightest Shrimps :)
  22. Thread here http://extremetechsupport.com/forum/tech-tips-and-tricks/4235-cleaning-insides-your-pc.html Do you leave the PSU lead in or remove it - when cleaning the inside of the case (you may post reasons for and against also)
  23. So both contain an OS yes? its easier to burn to a disk what you want and then flatten the drive (not literally - reformat it)
  24. Does you MOBO have onboard GPU? easiest way to tell is whip the add in card out and power up - does it boot up and can you see anything on screen?
  25. Hmm - does that mean that when I turn my whole electric supply off at my house - to fit some lights or a cooker - I need to call the national grid
