  1. Fan controller it is then - If its just for one fan then something like this will do Scan.co.uk: Asetek PCI FAN Speed Adjuster Kit 3pin Fan/Fan Controller/ Motherboard Kit - AK-FC-08-AT
  2. He he - I try. Right these may be slightly different from yours as I water cool but here you go:- POWER hardware monitor I then have CPU fan speed - N/A on mine as waterblock Chassis 1,2,3, are set to IGNORE Asus Q-fan settings are ENABLED OPTIMAL ENABLED AUTO 36 degrees
  3. I will have a look on mine later Matt and get back to you ok
  4. NO - there is no point in doing an update for something that you do not need - it can cause more harm than good. As for it not seeing the 4th that is very weird as if there are 4 slots there are normally 4 places for controlling the speeds - are there no drop downs what so ever?
  5. Yeah no difference at all - hmm If you are really worried about the fan speeds you can get a fan controller - the Zalman one I have is amazing £30 I think and it displays accurate real time power usage.
  6. It sounds like the SSID - what emits the signal is turned off - this is a safety feature of NETGEAR routers - check in the admin page - 192.168.1.1 then enter the details etc and check its all on. There is also an option to only allow certain PC's access - this is a pain but i wrote an article not long ago that describes it - we will cross that if needed. Did you install the wireless software or are you using the windows inbuilt one?
  7. Also when you install Vista - you then need the GPU driver and MAKE SURE its the right one. and all the windows updates - do you have SP1 on the Vista disk or did you try and DL it?
  8. Right thats it then version 2.06 see if there is a newer one on the ASUS site - but dont get it yet - have a read of what the updates are first ok
  9. "Your system is low on virtual memory" Click Start, then open the Control Panel. Click Performance and Maintenance, and then click System. Click the Advanced tab. Under Performance, click Settings. Click the Advanced tab. Under Virtual memory, click Change. Under Drive [Volume Label], click the drive that contains the paging file (virtual memory) settings that you want to change. In almost every case, this will be your C: drive. Click to select the "System managed size" option, then click Set. Click OK three times and restart your computer.
  10. Those numbers mean nothing in terms of the BIOS version. As for the £10 - what a joke - all you want to know is - is it meant to be sealed if yes it wasnt simple as - keep going and ask for someone who speaks English
  11. Hi, Welcome to FPCH :)
  12. It should be there for 2-3 seconds -
  13. When you boot the PC on the post screen there will be a big number bottom left and then a dash followed by two numbers eg 75647-16 the 16 is the BIOS version
  14. What version BIOS are you running? I am on 16 on mine
  15. Well all I can say is that they must have given him the meds by now or someone else is imitating him, hey what have you done with Barry  by the way mystery person - do you know anything about PC's :D
  16. Barry, I genuinely feel sorry for you the fact that you are locked in that tiny room with only the 4 padded walls for company , I saw this and thought of you
  17. Barry - get the men in white coats to let you use the internet and go to the world wide web via a pc machine and order a copy of it and watch it - then rejoin the conversation when you are more educated and have an idea what we are talking about - Thanks for your time in this matter Barry - I see it is a burden for you to take time from your busy schedule and I truly appreciate it
  18. Barry - you must have never seen Star Trek - First Contact either - The BORG go back in time to around the time that first contact was made with the Vulcans - they used bullets in that time - no one brought them with them :p Its ok people - it must be his age he is 115
  19. That screen shot did not work - Internal server error Chassis fan 1,2,3 etc are just generic as people use different cases and different ports etc - set it to IGNORE and that will stop the beeping - IS there no option for increasing the RPM or making the threshold higher?
  20. Use WMP - its far better than REAL PLAYER - No one uses REAL PLAYER anymore, I cannot remember from when I had it - but arent there any play settings and then a drag and drop like WMP?
  21. He he - they may have just not been perforated properly on your lappy :D As for the GPU - yes definately as that could be a return for all you know!
  22. You never watched First Contact - get out
  23. The holes that you describe sound normal on the Vista OS stickers to me - As for the fans - there should be an option to EXPAND each controller and ENABLE them all
  24. Hi, and welcome - It sounds like you have adjusted the monitor resolution beyond its native size - you can correct this by right clicking on the screen when windows has booted and clicking properties - there are a list of resolutions and depending on your screen size it will be 1024x768 or 1280x1024 As for the external screen - there should be an FN button on the bottom left of the laptop keys it stands for function and then one of the F keys will have a picture of 2 monitors one coloured in and one not - Press and hold FN and then press that key :)
  25. The Box for the OS does just come in a sleave with those stickers on - I cant do you a screen shot of the fans at the moment - but they are definately in the BIOS under the very top left option and then the top again I think on the next screen and then that should give you the options to be able to higher the minimum RPM - or the actual fan may be limited at that speed and then you can just adjust the minimum level to stop the beeps -
