  1. CPU-z is a program that tells you what you CPU and RAM are running at and it gives the FSB of the CPU - these are not reallty what we need - we need to know the exact MOBO and Everest is better for that. Mountain - lol here you go Lavalys - Comprehensive IT Security and Management
  2. There are a few routes available to you - stick with what you have at the moment until you really need the upgrade and at that time you can get a MOBO at the same time. Or you can use a program like Everest to tell you the Motherboard model and we can go from there.
  3. I have just had a look for you and its supposedly the Foxconn MCP61SM-AM, BUT there are no details anywhere for this board and that includes the Foxconn website.
  4. The CPU and the RAM are governed by the MOBO - you need to tell us what MOBO is in it as only then can we tell you the maximum CPU and RAM speed it can handle.
  5. Also pop the CMOS battery out for a few minutes - the round watch battery located at the bottom of the Motherboard, leave it out 2 minutes and then reinsert it and power up and see whats what
  6. Sounds like the GPU (Graphics Card) or possibly the drivers - Can you list the components of the PC please - CPU,GPU,PSU, RAM and MOBO

  8. I dont understand what you mean here - you connect the VGA cable from the PC to the TV and if there is not a connector on the back of the TV for the VGA then you need either an S-VIDEO and then seperate audio cables of a converter for whatever type of output VGA to HDMI etc

  10. You could also get something like this VGA to HDMI Converter :: HDMI & HD Convertors :: HDMI Cables :: Cable Universe
  11. Have you flashed the BIOS to the latest version - if the PC was put together 6 months ago then it is likely that the MOBO and components are 6 months or more older and MOST ASUS boards need a flash within 2-3 months.

  15. It depends on how much DATA you have there is no point spending money on an External HDD if you can burn to 1 or 2 DVD-Rs

  17. The problem that you have with DVI to HDMI is that HDMI is ALWAYS upscaled and DVI isnt - Maximum HDMI size is 1920x1200 from memory and DVI can do any size BUT most TV's now have a DVI connector - if it does then USE that, if not then use HDMI

  19. The fact that all 3 PSU's listed are colours ones (budget and by that I mean like the lowest kind ) JUST based on that I didnt read the rest!
  20. You must also SET the TV's actual channel to the computer - mine is by a button on the controller with a circle and an arrow facing into it - basically the same as if you were changing from one SCART channel to another

  22. Yes the socket as Seth has said is to power the CPU - there are some Mobo's that use a molex for SLI/CROSSFIRE and the two are not to be mixed up
  23. HDMI is better than VGA - but not as good as DVI
