I designed an algorithm using a flow chart that uses two semaphores that lock and release varying numbers of resources, depending on the context. Unfortunately, I cannot seem to find a semaphore implementation that allows this in C, C++ or Fortran. My algorithm will eventually be written in Fortran, but I am much more familiar with C/C++, so I would prefer to do a proof of concept in either C or C++ I did some google searches and I found that Java supports this. Unfortunately that does not help me much as I do not have access to Java's libraries from C, C++ and/or Fortran. Does anyone know of any semaphore implementations in C, C++ or Fortran that allow threads to lock and release varying numbers of resources? More... View All Our Microsoft Related Feeds

i saw on american idol this week (haha) that old school - means - old stuff that is ok to like.. so .. it is ok to like.. coke, cause it's old school.* or to like andrew lloyd webber - because it is old school so if anything is old school*it is Windows? how many years... 20? 30? my question - is enough "cred" ..enough "props" being paid to old school Windows (and maybe office) the Volks Beetle was old school - and updated - but it is the same design has Windows lost it's old school cool - by removing it?* not improving it / offereing it? is the new stuff (vista / ribbon) nice - but some - old schoolers dont like it? when i see teal and gray i think of windows - like comfort food.* or green and blue xp... conotates - happy. now we have black (vista) ...ok.* is it going to just continue changing in every release? imho - id make those*3 a "stack" to build on youve got the blue luna for business, black vista for media, new and improved classic for win95+... so you take your past - and make it categories - to expand apon not just willy nilly change windows colours with no goal? or should windows just change its UI / colurs per user testing (or whatever they do now)? edit: new ones could be added - but they would then also need to be supported - so when todays 18yr olds are 43 - they get comfort food too ? i guess im saying - a UI forecast - framework.. something thats not random vs ..random edit - plus there is alot of stuff that seems third or fourth tier design (within huge agency i mean) who is putting the thought into brand and legacy and ..etc.. the vista people were all fired.. OK, next step.* I've now got a strongly typed DataContext which I've associated with a stored procedure in my SQL Server 2005 database.* This SP does allow for nulls to be passed in for various parameters; in fact passing in nulls for some of the parameters will result in more data being returned, which is exactly what I want.* However, I don't know how to pass in nulls for the parameters of the method that is my SP associated with the LINQ to SQL result class.* I'll do something like the following to declare variables to pass to the method of the result class: string firstName, lastName, socialSecurityNo; DateTime? dateOfBirth; firstName = "Fred"; lastName = "Flintstone"; MyStronglyTypedDataContext dc = new MyStronglyTypedDataContext(); System.Data.LINQ.ISingleResult result = dc.spCheckData(firstName, lastName, socialSecurityNo, dateOfBirth); As you can see, I've left the socialSecurityNo and dateOfBirth values alone, which will mean that socialSecurityNo will likely equal string.Empty and dateOfBirth will be null.* These are allowed for in the SP, but running this results in nothing being returned.* I know this is not true, because if I run the same query in SSMS I get results.* So, how do I assign values to those variables so that when the call to spCheckData() occurs it will pass in null values to the SP?
