  3. It is only natural for individuals to congregate and cooperate. It is after all what a community / society is. A like-minded group of individuals working together. I'm please to announce a drive to recruit members of a group I'm naming the "Spam Protector Action Militia". Members of SPAM will agree to "report spam" posts that are harmful to our community, such as the DVD converting services, unwanted advertisements, and general harmful posts to our C9 community. This SPAM isn't just a flash in the pan, oh no. We will grow our group so that we can patrol C9 24/7/365. As soon as a harmful post appears, SPAM will leap into action like a pimply teenager onto a can of noxima. For that to be effective, we need members. I suggest that once an inner core of founding members is established, junior members can join as long as they are "vouched" for by a founding member. I will set up all necessary infrastructure needed for SPAM. I figure co-located, load-balancing servers from coast to coast so we can put us some web sites to more effectively serve our members. We will be asking for donations from the junior members, and those C9 members we are helping. Even though, those non SPAM C9 members aren't part of our group, I believe that once SPAM demonstrate our ability & willingness to delete all harmful posts, we can persuade those members to contribute. I'll go ahead and create a PayPal account. So, I'm extremely excited by this new venture. Please apply to SPAM by responsing to this post. grazie, i miei amici. More... 5. Do you guys have any tricks for this? I have a test tomorrow and am a bit stumped. ie: CaSO4 + AlBr3 - > ? Answer is : Double Replacement but we also have to get the charges of each element or ionic compound (which I already know how to do) then cross them like this: CaBr3 + SO4Al And then balance them on top of that such as this: 3CaBr2 + Al2(SO4)3 I believe I balanced that one wrong. So any tricks to this? More... View All Our Microsoft Related Feeds

  10. With Internet Explorer 8 Beta 1 for Developers now out in the wild, we have received a good deal of positive feedback regarding our plans for CSS. The feedback includes the need for the specifics around CSS support for IE8 Standards Mode for both the current Beta and what is projected for the final release. This information allows you, the developer community, to test your sites and give quality feedback for features that are actually implemented in the current beta release. These details are posted up on MSDN in the following document: CSS Compatibility and Internet Explorer. Once again, we thank you for your support and passion for building great products. 13. I am having a really odd issue and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions. Issue:* Internet Explorer 6*sporadically on many machines (not all) break and secondary windows will not open up.* It just brings up a blank window. Googling and surfing every MSKB I can find states to register a series of DLL's.* Specifically: regsvr32 /s Urlmon.dll regsvr32 /s Mshtml.dll regsvr32 /s Actxprxy.dll regsvr32 /s Oleaut32.dll regsvr32 /s Shell32.dll regsvr32 /s Shdocvw.dll regsvr32 /s Browseui.dll This 'does' solve the issue .... For the time being.* I have drilled*it down to just*one DLL which is mshtml.dll. Over time, and it’s no certain amount of time, they break 'again'.* This happens to machines that have been on the network for quite some time, and also machines that have been recently RIS'd and landed. I have attempted to use Process Monitor*to track down what might be 'unregistering' these DLL's.* I run this during the night and check it in the morning.* Since it collects so much information the machine is nearly stopped and has to be rebooted and I get no information/logs about what might have caused it to break. Can anyone recommend a piece of software that can monitor a group of PC's on the network and log information based on file and registry changes?* And hopefully a piece of software that does not take up so much system resources? Also, has anyone run into this issue at all?* I'm just sick of having to register DLL's all day :s Thank again for your time on this matter.* And if you need specific information about the PC's I can offer that as well.* We are running a locked down environment with the same patches, etc. More... 19. Hi All, I'm using Windows XP with SP2 and have two pc's networked using a cable connection. I'm trying to create a shared folder by using a .reg file to import the appropriate sharename & permissions into the registry. These values appear to be imported correctly, but the folder (although visible on*the remote computer) cannot be opened & the "You do not have permission..." message is displayed. Using Explorer to set the folder as shared allows the folder to be opened on the remote computer, but I want to do this using a batch file or script. Any suggestions would be most welcome. 22. From being an economics major and MBA to working with a veterinary ophthalmologist in Florida, Shawn Richardson tell us about her non-linear path into the world of technology. As a security program manager, Shawn is on the Windows Security Assurance team where they make sure the OS, when it goes out the door, is as secure as possible. (Plus, Shawn gets to personally sign off on the security of the OS. Cool!) She’s been at Microsoft over six years, and a time that really stands out for her was when she volunteered to help during the Blaster virus breakout. She realized then the impact we have on our customers, whether it’s our moms or the largest enterprise companies in the world, and helping to do the right thing for our customers no matter what is a very important part of her work philosophy today.
