  3. WEB HOST DOWN - IGNORE FOR THE MOMENT i was looking for something other than quickbooks to do home finance management - something a lot easier to be exact. I checked out MS Money ( nice interface - wish IE looked like that at the top) but wanted something even more ..object based. So i typed**"visual money"* and "piggybank" into google - and these came up: http://www.visual-money.com/screenshots.html http://www.wimponline.com/# still too much forms based... not visual enough. So I quickly made a sample of what im looking for (below) Does anything like his exist? Would make a great WPF app.. *my Web host has been having issues today - may be slow coming in: Simple Visual Bank / drag and drop money manager idea Visually shows money - as money.* View as dollars, 10's, 20's, 50's, 100's, 1000's* ..billions ;) http://www.jamiegrant.com/piggybank/piggybank1.jpg Mouseover a bank shows how much is inside... http://www.jamiegrant.com/piggybank/piggybank2.jpg You could switch from Thumbnail view - to List view http://www.jamiegrant.com/piggybank/piggybank3.jpg Just like selecting files in windows - you could select money and drag it into whatever banks you've made http://www.jamiegrant.com/piggybank/piggybank4.jpg After dragging money from Checking to a bank - the Checking root updates to show how much is there http://www.jamiegrant.com/piggybank/piggybank5.jpg *edit - crap seems not to be coming in at all now here...* but all my sites use the same host.. 15. Apparently it's the going trend for updaters to clog everything up for attention. As of this evening I've been messing with updates for my blogs look'n'feel, and as I was sorting all the zip's etc. on the desktop, the updater obnoxiously pops up. Explorer.exe appears to crash, the desktop vanishes and I drop a load. Then it all comes back and smiling at me is the flash symbol, asking whether I'd like to update.... and all my desktop icons are stacked to the left. I hate updaters :( More... 17. Two Geeks just had this problem during the last Windows update - their Vistalaptops would not startup. System restore would not work nor wouldbooting in safe mode. It would be interesting to hear from anyone else who's Vista was affected during a windows update Doing a search on Google* - these anecdotes came up - so there must be many others. Hopefully, Microsoft could be made aware of this disaster http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/vista-boot-error-after-windows-update-t183138.html http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/ More... 23. I have a custom MembershipProvider and a custom StaticSiteMapProvider.* All of my user, role, and navigation data is stored in a SQL Server database.* I want the navigation menu to be limited based off which user is logged in. The user logs in using the standard Login control which communicates with my custom MembershipProvider.* Once they are logged in the custom StaticSiteMapProvider builds the navigation menu.* Is there an easy way to fetch the logged in user name (from the MembershipProvder class)*in the StaticSiteMapProvider class so that I can limit the menu? 24. Just curious, what mouse do you use? I'm on a cheap MS Optical Mouse Blue (2 Button + scroll wheel), but it's about to reach the end of its useful life (one of the plastic pads on the bottom is in the process of coming loose and falling off, and the mouse is too cheap to bother fixing it), so I'm wondering what other people around here recommend.
