And it's all spanky; Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor T7700 (2.40 GHz,800 MHz FSB, 4 MB L2-cache), 4Gb RAM, 7200rpm hard drive, 256Mb GeForce™ Go 8600M GT And Vista. I am honestly dreading Vista. Which is rather sad in its own way, but perhaps also says something about the problems it presents devs, the marketing of the OS and the general malaise it engenders. More... If this was a boxing match, then HD-DVD would be on the ropes, bleeding profusely and taking sledgehammer like blows to the body. First the punishment in the corner: Gartner writes off HD-DVD Woolworths goes Blu-Ray only. Then something of wild swing in Blu-Ray's direction. A strategic initiative within Microsoft IT is to improve the overall productivity, quality, and predictability of internal software development projects. Microsoft IT partnered with Microsoft Research to create a Microsoft Visual Studio Team System 2005 extension that counts lines of code and predicts system defects. In the software development environment, insight into the volume of code being produced, and the changes applied to that code, provide measurements of productivity and quality. Interesting tidbit written by Jamie from the famous (USA only?) show MythBusters. I guess Jamie doesn't believe that Vista's bloat and stability problems are a myth. Hi all, I have a server that runs some nightly processing. However, if anyone leaves a file open, the nightly process literally freezes. I don't have access to the kernel code of the software; just a user mode c-like scripting language, so there's not much in the way of being able to handle this kind of error gracefully. I am looking for a way to kill all file handles in a specified folder, before this nightly process kicks in. I have seen something about NtQuerySystemInformation, but that is kernel level stuff. I was wondering if there are any other ways to accomplish this. I know that in computer managment snap in, there is a share viewer with a kill option on the right click menu. Is there an easy way to do this same enumeration / kill? Thanks in advance for your help. --John Jackson --Deputy Auditor More... View All Our Microsoft Related Feeds

After I tried some ways to convert FLV to DVD or SWF to DVD, finally I found my way to convert Flash: FLV/SWF to DVD which seems good to use. This guide is mainly about how to convert FLV to DVD and SWF to DVD, so that you can back and save your favorite flash for a long time. It will include two parts as follow: 1. How to free convert FLV to DVD or SWF to DVD?* DVD Flick + SUPER 2. How to convert FLV to DVD or SWF to DVD in an easy way?* FlashOnTV Part One: How to free convert FLV to DVD or SWF to DVD As DVD Flick only support FLV video, if your flash is SWF, you may first use SUPER to convert SWF to FLV video. If your flash is FLV video, you can directly go to Step 1. Download Super (totally free:* http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_encoders/super.cfm), convert SWF to FLV or other formats video which DVD Flick support. http://www.daniusoft.com/article-image/flash/super.jpg* Step 1 Download DVD Flick (totally free:* http://www.dvdflick.net/download.php), add FLV videos. http://www.daniusoft.com/article-image/flash/dvd-flick.jpg Step 2 and Step 3 This software allows you to edit video settings and DVD project settings. Step 4 Finally insert your DVD to Create DVD. Note: As it is free software which only support FLV Flash video with simple edit and little slow speed. Part Two: How to convert FLV to DVD or SWF to DVD in an easy way Download FlashOnTVhttp://www.flash-on-tv.com/flash-to-dvd.html) which is a special software I found to convert FLV to DVD or SWF to DVD. It is a professional Flash to DVD converter which has more powerful functions, it allows you to create DVD menu and save project or do more edit. Step 1 Run FlashOnTV, add Flash (SWF or FLV) files. http://www.flash-on-tv.com/images/article/flashontv/add.jpg Step 2 Preprocess Flash files. Some SWF videos need to preprocess before burn to DVD, it can automatically process. Step 3 Creat DVD menu. This FlashOnTV allows you to DVD menu: menu, frame, button, text and custom thumbnail, background image, background music. http://www.flash-on-tv.com/images/article/flashontv/dvd-menu.jpg * Step 4 Burn DVD. Its tough to be the only one.* The only parent, the only one people count on.* Its tough.* Since my wife died I have had to make a few changes.* I have had to be the patient one, the sensitive one, the one to take care of the kids when they are sick.* My daughter is OK, she's off in college.* My son, who is 5 now is a different story.* He is still young and I have to be careful.* Careful on what I say, careful what I do and I think everyday; Am I raising him right?* Was I too hard on him?* Am I screwing up big time? and then I think, OK what am I going to fix for dinner?* I cannot fix microwave dinners and McDonalds everynight.* I have a good support system.* My parents help a lot as do the rest of my family.* If I have to go out of town they care for him almost to the point when I come home he wants to stay with them. I always thought, even when we were split up that I was doing a good job but she was there as the mother to take care of everything.* A million and one questions I need to ask her but she is gone and only one remains.* When we split up I said good riddance, now that she is gone I'd give anything to have her back.* A few thoughts, dont ever say anything mean or that you will regret.* You do think of that a lot if something happens.* For that single mom who thinks finding a man who will accept your kid is tough the single dads have it just as rough.* I'm not a religous guy, I absolutely hate the church but my son loves his Sunday school class and like his mom loves to go to church.* I put aside my personal hatreds and go with him, I attend all his functions for church and school.* If there is a heaven or a hell I do believe she went where she always believed she would go. For those of you on Channel 9 that recently split up or even those that are still with their spouses.* Look at them, listen, they are worth holding onto and above all cherish them.* Even if you hate them now or they do things that infuriate you.* I can make one guarantee, you will miss them when they are gone. Thanks for reading.* Just a few thoughts. More... View All Our Microsoft Related Feeds
