  1. Hi Joanne, I was having a delve through my cupboard over the weekend and came across a stock of floppies. I found a Win 98 bootup floppy and a copy of Win 95 - this was on CD ( progress :) ) I still have the 15 floppies needed to install one of the original Arts and Letters software. I go back a little bit further .... In my loft I have a ZX Spectrum This has a massive memory - 48K RAM........the cheaper version had a 16K memory.
  2. You are welcome :)

Do you have an ethernet cable to try connecting directly to the router ? In the bottom right corner there is an icon that looks like a monitor. Right click on this and select "repair" Is your O/S Win2K ?
  4. The drivers you need are here: SG72 Drivers
  5. Hi, If it is your PSU causing the problem it should still be under warranty. The simplest test would be to swap it for a known good one.
  6. Hi, If needed your sound card drivers are available here: Downloads - Support - Fujitsu You will need to select the group > family > product in order to d/l the specific driver.

  10. Let us know the make and exact model number of your PC ( if it is a commercially produced one ). If not - Make and model number of your sound card. Chances are that you need to reinstall the drivers for the sound card - the information above will allow somebody here to locate the specific drivers for your card. If your "soundcard" is onboard then the make and model number of your motherboard will help.
  11. Let Crucial scan your system. RAM Memory Upgrade: Dell, Mac, Apple, HP, Compaq. USB drives, flash cards, SSD at Crucial.com It will tell you the maximum that your motherboard will support and make a recommendation as to type and speed. You can compare this to what you have.
  12. Hi, If you can get to Safe Mode then try "Last Known Good Configuration" from the list of options.
  13. This could be a corrupt cookie. Start > Control Panel > Internet Options > Delete Delete the cookies. Note: You will have to log in to sites like this again with your password.
  14. Hi, You now have 1GB RAM which should run your machine much faster than the original. What you had originally was hardly enough to run XP with. Enjoy :)
  15. Hi Phillipa and welcome to FPCH Try this: Click on View in the toolbar and click on "Default View". This should bring your blue clouds back :)
  16. Now here is a really old one .....Nev do you remember this ? You could use it to build houses etc. with rods that were placed in holes and the bricks slid into place between the rods. http://www.baykoman.com/Sets%20and%20Contents/Images/Page%201%20MECCANO%201962%20Small.jpg

  18. Hi Nev, You must be really old :) I actually worked at Meccano for 4 years. Hornby trains were designed by Frank Hornby way back before my time. Even Meccano had been phased out and was being produced in France at the time. The company was still called Meccano and they were still producing Dinky Toys in the "Train Room" - a reminder of better times. I bet nobody remembers Meccano Mogul Toys ? They were similar to Tonka toys ( all steel ) you could jump on them and not damage them. They were not marketed very well at all ! http://archive.liveauctioneers.com/archive3/vickyvectis/10984/5017_1_lg.jpg The Meccano site does not exist now. It is a car park.
  19. Are you getting a prompt in the toolbar (top of screen ) that is waiting for an acceptance from you?
  20. Hi, Confirm this please by doing the following: Start > Run ..type in...winver....hit OK Also right click on My Computer > Properties The amount of RAM you have will be shown in both cases as MB or KB. Hopefully you will have more than 224 :)
  21. Hi, You can also try this: Right-click the desktop. Point to Arrange Icons By. Click Show Desktop Icons.
  22. You should see a big difference - let us know how you get on :)
  23. Yes. You just release the locking levers at either end and carefully replace with the new modules. You may find it easier to locate one end first holding the module at a slight angle.
  24. Hi Argie, I would advise that you scan your system from here: Crucial.com The scan will tell you the maximum supported by your board and make recommendations. Crucial is a "good" make as is Kingston and Corsair. It is false economy to buy cheap RAM.
