    Hi Have a read through this page on the microsoft website. Tell us if it works. You haven't stated which version of windows you are running so i am assuming its xp.

    Seth must look at the log for coz he knows more about the logs. Are you running Avast and AVG? Install and run the free version (not the Professional version) of Superantispyware Accept any prompts to allow SuperAntiSpyware to install the latest infection definition files. DO NOT allow SuperAntiSpyware to protect your Home Page settings. Double click the yellow "bug" icon in the system tray. Click on "Scan Your Computer". Make sure there is a dot on C:\Fixed Drive. Click "Perform a Complete Scan". Click "Next" and reboot the computer when prompted to do so.

    What if you go in safe made create another account and see if that account has admin privaliges. But also hear what the other think of this idea

    Hi JEB Its not that expensive if you work it out. Nod32 for 1 year is $29 / 12 = $2.40 per month :) LOL I think bitdefender was £24(dont know what is in $) Just have to save. :D

    If you have another pc you can put the hard drive in that one as slave and do a full scan on the other pc. You already did a full scan in safe mode? Do you have admin privaliges in safe mode? What is the exact error message?

    Thanks Randy. LOL Well if its doing its job than Norton is OK i guess. I use the online scans and free scanners when i suspect malware that my AV doesnt pick up. Woops didnt see the not there

    Thanks WM and AS. I am going for a paid AV, I just think its better coz you get more features(useless or not :) ) and doing my bit to support the AV software. I have SAS as an backup scanner at the moment(free version lol). Maybe i'll have a paid AV running all the time and have SAS and MalwareBytes as backup scanners? Thanks

    Hi all Time to get a new anti-virus again. :confused: My choices are: 1. Renew bitdefender (cheapest option coz renew is cheaper than first buy) 2. Nod32 3. SuperAntiSpyware 4. MalwareBytes (Dont know this one) 5. Trendmicro PC Cillin (or something like that :) ) But what would you buy? The only reason i ask is coz i like to get other opinions aswell :D Regards Maynard

    Hi Did you also do a full scan with superantispyware? Coz may sceensaver download comes bundles with malware. Also try uninstalling the downloaded screensavers. I'd also recommend an online scan with either trendmicro housecall or with bitdefender online scan. Hope this helps.

    I'm not saying your right or wrong, you have your opion and i have mine. The point is why would you want to over clock a proccessor that can handle 99.9%(if not 100%) of all applications without a problem. And this is not a cheap processor. If he was you, yes fine overclock, but if he hasnt been overclocking CPU's for a couple of years and know excactly what to do, its not worth trying and doing something wrong, and ending up with a fried CPU!

    Hi read this and you'll see the disadvantages is more than the advantages you get. Besides why would you want to overclock a pc that can already do anything.

    It sounds like the registry entrees for office is missing so you will probably need to re-install office!

    Hi Welcome to FPCH Acer normally has a recovery partition. When the pc starts press alt-f10 or alt-f11 or just f10(my acer is alt-f10) this will alow you to restore it to factory defaults. If you do this you wil LOOSE all saved data Unless you have another partition where you can copy everything. You will still need to re-install the programs.

    Hi Welcome to Free PC help. What do you mean by it doesnt work? Can you get into windows or are you having problems accessing drive f? Do you get any error messages or does it freeze?
