I am posting on behalf of a Microsoft Customer. He/ she installed updates and now they can't play games with more than 5fps. His restore point is after the updates. It was suggested that he/she uninstall the latest updates that cause this error, and they are wondering if there is any way to organize the updates by the time? Is it possible to make all configuration of updates on power up ? Windows doing configuring of updates automatically on power down can have an unfortunate side effect. If you happen to be boarding an airplane, you must turn your computer off. If it decides to spend 20 minutes configuring updates before it actually turns off, it may be necessary to force power down as the airplane leaves the gate, and before the config is done, as happened to me. Dear all. My computer started to crash today - Blue screen, sad smiley and a note to check the details about the crash "Syste_Service_Exception". The computer crashed today already twice. Situation: Computer is one year old, originally came with Win 7, but it was upgraded to Win 8. The last big chunk of updates was installed this morning, just before the first crash. Hello everyone, I'm trying to update my computer but everytime I do so, it's giving me a blue screen and saying: DRIVER POWER STATE FAILURE. I've checked the internet for a solution but I can't find anything specific to my individual problem. I've got a VERY expensive ASUS G74Sx Laptop and it's seriously annoying me! I just want everything to run smoothly, without all these silly problems. If anyone could help me then I would really appreciate it. Every tine the auto update service checks for "new updates", it downloads and installs "KB2811522". This has repeated for several days. I understand it has something to do with updated Flash Player on IE-10 for Win8 (??). Interestingly, I was unable to update the Flash player from 11.3.377.15 to the latest recommended by Adobe for Win8 - version 11.6.602.167. My work computer is on a domain. I am running Windows XP Pro SP3. Because of the large size of "My Pictures" folder I have redirected it to on of my local drives instead of letting it reside on our server (Windows 2003 SBS). I also have redirected "My Music" folder to a local drive, and "My Favorites" folder to the server where "My Documents" folder is also. This works fine with no problems most of the time. Somehow some, but not all, windows updates will change the location of "My Pictures" folder to the server. When this happens I know as soon as I login after reboot, because it will take approximately an hour before the computer becomes usable. The reason for this is that the folder is being moved (not copied) to the server over a 100 base-T ethernet connection. My other redirected folders stay where they are suppose to be, just the "My Pictures" folder gets moved. I have tried to find all registry entries that have to do with that folder location and have only found two, the ones that I changed originally to redirect the folder in the first place. This happened for the 4th time when I allowed Windows Update to install the latest updates last night (2/13/13). This is becomming very annoying and time consumming because I have to move the folder back to the local drive and reset the folder redirection, and the whole process takes about an hour, plus the hour lost after reboot. Hi I have new problem, new virus. Using windows 7. Yesterday I was searching something in internet and suddenly jumped notification from police such of ( I am downloading movies, watching illegal pornographic videos and etc.. This notification showed my IP address and pictures of my chair where I was sitting at moment and asking me to pay 100£ or my IP will blocked. I made call immediately to my internet provider asking them what’s happening, provider say everything is ok, scanned with McAfee - nothing. Today I see article about hackers who created the virus has been jailed. WIN EXP SP3 fully updated to Feb 2013. M.S.E. Antivirus It has been some time since I have had a problem with the monthly updates - I dl and install all manually. In this months Black Tuesday updates, I have been offered an update for M.S.E [KB2804527] along with updates for XP & Office. This update shows in both the notification area[yellow shield] and via Start/Windows Update/Home page. I have a desktop and laptop both running XP SP3 and M.S.E. They both have version 4.1.522.0 of M.S.E. Links[linked id 195462] to the update both sent me to what appears to be the home page for the installation of M.S.E. - I could find no reference to any 'update'. A full search of the MS web site indicates that KB2804527 does not exist - it does not appear in the monthly ISO nor via the Download Center, security updates and tools - every search produces the below. Sorry, we could not find any results on Download Center. It may help to: Anyhow, I decided to try the download onto the desktop, from the links given in the notification bar and windows update home page. I downloaded and installed after removing my existing version of M.S.E. After install and boot I updated the definitions, and I still have the update showing as not installed. I have checked the installed version properties and found that I had installed version 4.1.0522.0. I also looked at the properties for the mseinstall icon that I had downloaded and it showed as version 4.1.0522.0. Apart from an additional '0' in the versions, it would appear that I still have the same version installed. I do not get any error, as has been reported in a couple of other threads. But then there does not appear to be much of a problem reported from others. For the moment, I have not updated the laptop. If it keeps showing, I will hide it for the moment. Since the install of a patch on 2/14/13, I am receiving an error message on reboot. I had NO problems prior to the patch. This is the error message when I reboot my system. The procedure entry point SetThreadPreferredUILanguages could not be located in dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll. Searching the MS Website, it references the RUNDLL32 file. The patch appears to revolve around RUNDLL32.EXE dated 2/14/2013. good morning. yesterday i updating my home computer and 3 updates failed. (kb2799494, kb2789645, and kb2790655) i have been through the help list and tried everything. the ms fix it program says it fixes the problems but when i rerun the updaye scan it shows the 3 as still needed. and the fail to install. i am using a win 7 64 bit machine. this is the first time i had problem installing updates so i am at a loss as what to do next. i also ran a sfc/scannow command but it showed nothing. thank you in advance for any help you can offer.i found a post in your community help regarding a simialer situation. same error message and results but different updates. unfortunettly the message had no conculsion to it. Someone put a new hard drive in my computer, & I've noticed that some of the older windows updates, from the time when he still had the computer, had failed, & a few were important or recommended. I downloaded AVG Internet Security 2013. Was having trouble with the Firewall settings, so I Uninstalled AVG. When computer rebooted the CEF Initialization Error showed up. I did a troubleshoot for this error nothing resolved it. I then did a restore point before downloading AVG. The error message still comes up. Does anyone have a solution? View this thread

After Windows 8 update get the following message: Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. Error Status was 0x%x This is true for all devices in sound, video and game controller. still works if boot the PC in Windows 7. Any way to resolve this problem?
