My Itunes will not update or safari and i ahve scanned with avast and found nothing malicious in my computer. Also the system readiness tool is not compatible with my computer, and using the command promt and run tools from the start feature havent worked either. View this thread

Recently received Windows 8 update notice for a number of updates (12+) for my Surface Pro. Allowed updates to download. After waiting almost two hours with the screen indicating "don't turn off computer while updates are occurring", I finally shut down the computer and re-started. After re-starting, I lost any control by type cover, touch pad or wedge mouse. I have attempted troubleshooter several times indicating there were problems and they were fixed. I had to reinstall Windows Vista and complete the necessary Windows Updates so I could upgrade to 7. I've installed everything including SP1 according to the installed updates window. My computer will not recognize that SP1 is installed and won't let me upgrade to 7. View this thread

I got on wife's computer found it hadn't been updating. I installed internet explorer 8 and and windows security essentials everything seem to go well. next morning essentials coulden't update, when I went to updates it's like my computer has never saw this computer I ger error message 0X80070424. And trys to send me for extension reader. I have reinstalled twice and same problem when I try to ypdate windows.. It shows no updae history although I am sure it has sp3 and until recently I maintained all maintence on PC's. Its like location of files have changed and up doesnt see updates . I can look at system and it shows latest version of win XP SP 3. I reinstalled esentials this morning and check for up date and says cant connect. and get same error as windows update 0X80070424. I am having trouble with the following updates:- KB2726535- KB2758857Both packages fail even after trying several times with the Windows Updater I tried to download and install both manual with a clean boot option (i know you will try and suggest it if i don't tell you i have already done it) both at the end say that this update has not been installed. I tried to fix this by using the System File Checker, but that tool couldn´t find anything wrong with the system. I would really appreciate it if someone could help me with this. My PC is running on a 64 bit Windows 7 Pro.Thanks! View this thread

Updated windows 7 Pro 64 bit with K280149 today and it changed my network settings from Home to Public, needless to say I could no longer access any internet connections. Uninstalled K280149 and all is back to normal. I did this 3 times just to make sure the update was the culprit. I don't know what Microsoft is up to but it has to be deliberate, no writer can make such a mistake accidently or they would be fired on the spot. Dan@DBS View this thread

My computer just shut down while I was using it to do one of those wonderful auto updates that it does not even give me a warning to save my stuff. Once it started back up, I noticed right away my desktop background was missing. Also, internet explorer is gone. I searched the computer, and it is just no longer installed. I check my personal files, and noticed that my download folder is no longer accessible either. Firefox was still on my computer, but all of my saved links and saved passwords, totally gone as well. Cannot run update because windows is saying service is not running.,please restart your computer. Have done this on 2 occasions and still same. Troubleshooted problem and it ran checks and repairs and said error was fixed and to try again...but lo and behold ran update again and got same message!! I have many updates that are unsuccessful, pressed the FIXIT tab which tells me that the problem is solved and the next day its back again. When I turn the computer off it says installing 1 of 4, or 1 of 2 updates. But they are rarely installed. Any ideas ? Thank You. Ray. View this thread

On 3-15-13, we had a storm, and even tho I had a surge protector for some reason, it set my date one(1) year ahead to 3-15-14 which i did not notice in time, so when I started my pc, it had an installtion update, which was this: Security Update for Windows Vista (KB2807986) Well least to say, my pc was a little confused, because until I changed the actual date in the BIOS? It had still installed this update for the year 2014, so my pc and browsers would not work properly till I changed the date. But in the meantime, the correct installation of this certain update was never done.. So, I need help on what to do. How do I take off this update? Or do i leave it and just manually install the correct update? Whichever it is, I need help on how to do this and where to find the correct update? Can someone Please help me? and Thank you! I reinstalled IE8, after which Windows updates didn't work and I got 0x80070424 error. (XPHome SP3) I re installed SP3 but this didn't fix it. I tried the FIXIT suggested by David Vinod (http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_xp-windows_update/updates-continue-to-pop-up-but-cannot-download-no/73ccc5a1-64c1-4ffe-90be-32e4c7c93bbd) but this didn't cure it. My last updates were in November 2012, nothing since. Any ideas how to resolve the problem? This fix Microsoft Fix it 50687 enabled me to download the updates but they wouldn't install. Hi I have a very weired problem with my computer! It seems to be very slow when ever a windows update is available(before the download starts to sometime after it ends). It started off when I had windows 7 but carried on after I upgraded to windows 8. When my computer is running like it should it boots up in about 30 seconds and will respond to starting a program straight away. But when there is the problem the computer takes around 2 mins to start up and takes from 5 mins to 30 mins to start a program. I have recorded the dated for around 5 months( I upgraded to windows 8 in late 2012). These dates are: 27th - 28th November 2012 19th - 20th January 2013 5th, 17th - 18h and 25th Febuary 2013 18th and 26th March 2013 2nd - 3rd and 29th April 2013 I hope someone knows what is causing this because it is beyond me! I was using goggle to search the Internet. After visiting a site call T-Nation, my next search with goggle changed and all of a sudden my queries are going through Conduit and secondly Bing. Hello After installing the early April 2013 Microsoft updates on my Vista Home Premium service pack 2 pc, it kept freezing and either rebooting or going to a blue screen saying unrecoverable hardware error. I system restored to prior the updates and my Norton 360 antiviurs software was in a mess. Norton support removed and reinstalled 360 and all was fine,. A couple of internet searches suggested this was a fairly widespread issue, so I continued to use the pc without the updates. I left it a week or so and intalled the updates again. Once again my pc froze and went to the blue screen. I system restored again, this time unchecking the Norton Tamper Protection box to stop the antivirus issue. All seems well again. So.........does anyone know what the issue is with the updates, is there a fix or workaround for this. Thanks View this thread
