I was trying to install the surface cover update from windows update and I received the error code 0x80072efe so I used the windows update troubleshooting app to resolve it... After that I was unable to check for updates and was receiving the error code 8024402F. View this thread

I have a fresh install of windows XP. I installed microsoft security essentials, which works great. I noticed that after a computer re-boot programs are slow to open the first time. After the first opening, they open quickly. I have verified that MSE is th problem by un-installing it and repeating the previous test. Any suggestions? [Moved from feedback] View this thread

Hi, I am currently unable to install updates be it Windows Updates, Java updates, Skype updates or any other program updates. I believe this to be a Windows Installer problem and have tried every potential solution I could find online including making sure the service is started, registering the service via the cmd prompt and even updating the Registry. I do not know what else to try. I am running Vista SP2 32-bit. The error message always says that "another installation is in progress" when it isn't (or it is but it doesn't update successfully). I have hidden some update relatings to '.NET Framework 2.0 and 3.0' that keep failing. Having found a possible solution I would now like to try them again but 'Restore hidden updates' does not work. I was abit doubtful about it as it is much fainter than the other Options. How do I get round this ? View this thread

KB2656351 and KB2600217 updates keep asking to be re-installed even though they have been installed "successfully" many, many times. I have Googled solutions and have tried the .net cleanup tool which fixed the problem for a few days and I have done Microsoft Fix-It which occasionally fixes the problem for about 2 computer restarts. Help? If I hide these updates or ignore them will something bad happen? View this thread

I have tried installing this a countless number of times now and have never succeeded. I have followed instructions from other peoples' posts and answers on these forums and have never had any luck. I'd hate to resort to wiping my entire computer just for this stupid update but it isn't looking too good. If you need any info don't hesitate to ask. The sooner this gets resolved the better! Hi. I am having windows 8 for more than 2-3 months. It is really very useful and good. But today i faced a problem ! .. I am an Indian .And, i use the Tile "Book My Show".
