Hey tootech, Any solutions? I just find it weird how it works with IE and not other browsers.... Yeah I get that problem plus the navigation bar font should be "Museo 300" but it only works in my desktop, it doesnt work in any other computer....:S And I'm not in the picture, too shy haha (joke) I am a bit but nevermind I am not part of the group I'm part of the technical team behind it :D. Pretty cool because I get access to anyone at any time, even if it is a show I especially like the girl's changing room.... for obvious reasons. (No further comments :D)

Okay, I thought it would be nice to bring such a nice topic back to life..... What was the best investment you have made lately in terms of software? Anyone? Mine was probably hmm... master suite CS4 (adobe). I love it, haha.

Hello everyone, I'm back :D Another problem (how unusual :) ) Anyway, I spent a couple of hours designing and coding a website for a group of friends... the website is: Lateral Artistes - Lowestoft's Newest Drama Success The website works perfectly on IE but I seem to have a problem with firefox, any suggestions? I'm not sure if I have the same problem with other browsers as I've only tried IE and firefox.... can someone please have a look with a different browser. Anyway back to the problem, if you visit the website you will see what I'm talking about...the content area seems to **** up the entire website...really annoying. Can someone have a look at the html code and see if you can spot any mistakes. Bare in mind that this is the first time I actually code a website.... Can someone also give me some feedback in terms of design... I know that some of the links aren't working and there is no content but I'm waiting for the group to give me the information. Thanks everyone and sorry for the long post (new keyboard is lovely).

I dont think they will always be behind, there is a limit for hardware development and just like Match said, once it reaches the "light" technology that is it they can't go further than that. As we all know, light is the fastest moving thing on the entire galaxy, einstein himself said it. But software doesn't have a limit, they can always release new programs, new OSs, new games. And Sir Sugar, can with no doubt explain this better than anyone. (he had a hardware company and didn't believe in software)

I agree that they are expensive, but to be honest they are the future and we can see this happening with CPUs. I know that they are two completely different things, but CPUs started with "one processing unit" then two (dual core) and four (quad core) and god knows what i7 use, i dont even know.

Oh... thats interesting so people seem to be having problems with IE8 and XP but no problems with vista and IE8.

Haha, so basically the GTX295, is the "extreme" at the moment. Top-range. Only for geeks and pro's (haha , me being steryotypical) I WANT ONE!!!. Wonder what ATI is going to release? Does anyone know about any rumours?

I can't afford the GTX295, thats like £500. Hmm, might get the GTX280 as apparently it is better than the HD4870 1Gb. Any thoughts? Are you planning in doing any upgrades, maynardvdm?

Ha okay, my case is the Thermaltake Xaser III (getting old my good girl) but it has like hmm 7 fans, I think, so the temperatures are normally low. I can overclock to a QX6800, no problem.

I personally prefer the design of the other IE (IE7). It looks like you went back in time to Windows 98. IE7 made me feel like I was using a beautifully designed Mac and IE8 is like a warning telling me that I'm still using Windows. Does that make sense? The boxes are squares instead of the lovely roundy shaped in IE7. But apart from that IE8 rocks! Some useful features like the "suggested websites" (similar websites, with the same context) and some hiden ones that I'm still trying to work out what they do.

I was thinking, hmm Watercooling and 4870 1Gb. So you no longer have 2GB? You have more now?

Oki Randy, will do my best :D Even though, I am a microsoft boy. I know of friends that run firefox and IE and no problems at all. Just like mr beeceebee said, it is very hard to completly remove IE, so they work like a "team".

Upgrades!! We all love them, (I know I do). :D I was just wondering, if you are thinking of upgrading or have upgraded your PC recently. I'm tempted to get a Core i7 and a Rampage Extreme II and sell my Maximus Extreme and Q6600. Or buy a HD4870. To be or not to be, that is the question. Any thoughts about what I should buy?

Just thought I would let you guys know, that so far no errors or problems with IE8. To be honest seems pretty cool! I am a bit biased when it comes to browsers because I'm a Microsoft boy and never really tried any other browsers. IE8= 4* out of 5*

The software AI Suite was controlling my CPU voltage. It wouldnt allow the CPU to achieve high voltages and therefore no high Mhz. This was causing the PC to freeze when I tired to run demanding applications. By overclocking the CPU it made sure that it could achieve the required Mhz/Voltage. I could have just un-installed the software and not overclock the CPU. But I like the software. Do you know what I mean now? I'm 100% sure I overclocked the CPU and not the GPU.

Hello fellow friends, I finally solved my problem !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! After updating and re-updating and doing this twice to the drivers! I realised that the problem was nothing to do with these but to do with a stupid thing. The solution was just in front of my eyes... I even mentioned it once while writing my posts! The software provided by the motherboard manufacture ASUS. It allows me to control the CPU voltages; fan RPM; check the temperatures; perform safe overclocks. Well, the so called AI Suite software is indeed useful. However, it was preventing my CPU from achieving the high voltages that are needed for games. The solution: Overclocking OR Un-installing the software I overclocked the CPU, to make sure that the voltages were constant and capable of handling with the necessary "power" for the games. Now I am able to run the game at full graphic setting (I'm actually amazed that the good old lady 2600XT is capable) and with no stupid freezes. I decided to keep the software as it is useful to check the temperatures and reduce voltages if possible to reduce my CO2 emissions (I like my environment). Thanks for everyone that tried to help, sometimes the solution is so obvious that we just ignore it. Another lesson that I just taught myself, HaHa :D.
