  1. 1. A recovery disc is a general term for media containing a backup of the original factory condition or favored condition of a computer as configured by an original equipment manufacter or an end-user. 2. They are very important. Example, lets a virus starts deleting important files in your computer and you don't have the 'Windows CD/DVD' to restore your computer settings to factory settings, in this situation you can use the 'Recovery Disk' as a bonus not only you get your original settings you also get the files you had in your 'My documents' folder. 3. Build an XP-SP2 Recovery Disc - Taking Stock - Solutions by PC Magazine Hope I make sense

  8. To complete the second step recommended by beeceebee. You have to do the following steps: Start ---> All Programs ---> Accessories ---> System Tools ---> System Restore ---> (Make sure the box: 'Restore my computer to an earlier time' is selected) then click 'Next ---> A calendar should appear, please select a point prior to when you have deleted the drivers ---> Click 'Next' --> A confirmation window should now appear, click 'OK'. This will now restart your computer and hopefully solve your problem. Let us know if this worked

  11. The page recommended by Wolfeymole is completly free unless of course you want to upgrade it. The free version gives you 5Gb of web space which should be enough for (average) 1500 jpegs and a few raws. Let me do a quick search for web hosting domains, I will post later. Edit: Okay, I've been looking at registering a domain and just like you said the cheapeast I found was £5.94 for 2 years. However, if you want web hosting then the cheapest I found was £1.59/ per MONTH, this offer only includes 250Mb which is pretty basic. If you are looking at something with more storage then I found 150Gb for £4.55/per MONTH.
  12. HELLO Fireball!! Welcome to Free PC Help. If you need any help WE are here for you! :D
  13. I completly agree with Wolfeymole comments, I just wanted to ask one thing to which you can possibly answer Wolfeymole. My question is can a virus do this sort of damage to a hard drive? Sorry for going a bit off topic.
  14. Oki Wolfeymole I will be waiting patiently. I've red his comments on other threads and he seems to know what he is talking about. Thanks for your reply
  15. Any suggestions?
  16. Hmm, try to empty recycling bin, delete cookies/%temp% folder.
  17. Oh dear!! Son in law and downloads, not good :) I've done that once to my dad and he wasn't happy :). Here's what you can do: -Replace your current hard drive with the other hard drive and see if the computer passes the Boot Menu, if it does then obviously it is the hard drive if not then it could be other hardware component.
  18. Did you change any hardware? I don't think that viruses can do that, I hope I'm right. I think its probably a problem with the hard drive, do you have a spare hard drive which you can use to test?
  19. Hello Everyone!! (It's my 1st post) I upgraded my computer 1 year ago,:D and I am now thinking in a possible upgrade again. THE BIG PROBLEM is that I don't know what to buy AND I can only spend £150-300. My pc: - (Motherboard) - Asus Maximus Extreme :) - (CPU) - Intel Quad Core Q6600 :) - (Graphic Card) - ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT  - (Memory) - DDR3 2Gb OCZ Gold Edition and 512mb Generic 1066Mhz - Air Cooled - (Case) Thermaltake Xaser III I was thinking of either buying a new GPU ( but I'm not sure if my motherboard accepts Nvidia because it says on the website ATI CrossFire), my other option was to buy more memory ( but for that I would need to get rid of the existing ones as the newer models are 1800Mhz and 1600Mhz, wouldnt I?) or I could buy a liquid cooling system. Sorry for the long post, but I want to make sure I spend my money wisely:). Thanks for reading.
