In the Project/Properties I set the Description. When it installs, in the list of installed apps, the description is as I have set it. But when I bring up the list of keyboards after installing the keyboard, it uses an old name. I created the keyboard using 'save source file as'. I tried this several times. I tried installing it fresh on another computer, but the corruption appears to be in the .klc file Anyone know how to 'uncorrupt' this file so it uses the descirption as the description? Hi. I am wondering if it is LEGAL to go back to Windows 7 after upgrading to Windows 8. I am not talking about the consumer preview, but about the final release since October 25. I have a laptop by HP, with pre-installed Windows 7. Can I simply restore Windows 7 and go on without a reactivation? How would that work? And what would happen to the upgrade disk of Windows 8? I do have an image of windows 7 to reinstall. I am not worried about windows.old folder. Just wondering about the legality of the process. View the thread

I ran a full restore on my Lap top. Windows Vista. Lap top approx 2-1/2 years old. Since doing this I have lost the ability to transfer photos from my memory card to my file on the computer. The Auto Play does not come in, in the task bar anymore. This happened once before after a restore and I took Laptop to a specialist which cost me money. I would like to think that you may be able to help me with step by step instructions to get it back. Using ADSL-2 Wi Fi. (32 bit). I hope I have described what's happening OK. Can anyone tell me how to connect my playstation 3 to my PC to update it's software, had it since 2008 and never updated it so now I cannot play the new games. Sony say's to download the updates to a thumb drive and then start my PC in safe mode, others say just to plug it in via usb to the modem router combo, have the same problem with my Sony Bravia TVs and blue ray players, have one 46" TV and one 55" TV, Contacted Sony before about this and used the disc method but it never worked. I do not want to play online, just connect via HDMI cable to my TV and play my move and other games. View the thread

Hi I have recently upgraded my PC to windows 8, but unable to access a number of the titles, apart from IE & MAP. I get no error message or connect issues (can access internet via desktop). All titles load and I get the screen change & dotted circle but none of the tiles load beyond that point. This is a new upgrade and I have been unable to get these elements to work at all. My son somehow relocated my taskbar from the bottom of my laptop screen to the left side of the screen. I am currently downloading a different version of anti-virus software than the 30 day trial that was provided with my new computer. However, I haven't been able to as there is still some trace of the old program on the computer. I have uninstalled all components of the program from the control panel but want to check the registry to make sure that everything has been removed. 1. How do I get to the registry? 2. I get the following error message when I click on Windows Media Player: "The file wmp.dll has a version number of 11.0.5721.5280 where 11.0.5721.5268 was expected. Windows Media Player is not installed properly and must be reinstalled." I have downloaded Windows Media Player version 11 for XP twice, and I still get the same message. Hi, A couple of days ago certain apps stopped opening including store. I don't get any errors just the splash screen opens with the logo and closes again. I've tried changing the UAC settings, disabling AVAST, there isn't a problem with the screen resolution.Don't want to have to do a clean install and that will just be a hassle. I've also tried refresh but my laptop doesn't seem to refresh windows 8. It gets to the point where it asks me to insert the media with the installation file which I do but then it says it can't verify it. Anyone got any other suggestions? I have a new Asus Republic of Gamers laptop and immediately upgraded to Windows 8 . I downloaded a few programs and just ran the sigverif.exe program , which shows all my drivers are signed . However , I've been getting this error message consistently on boot up . Restarting the laptop takes forever , programs are running very slowly and my wifi keeps turning itself off , even though connections are available . There are no viruses on the computer either . I am not terribly tech savvy and most responses to similar posts have either been specific to other Windows versions , skipped steps in the troubleshooting process (for example, how do I effect a "minidump" and where is the corresponding log file stored?) , or else have been too technical for me to follow . I have a Canon Scanner LiDE 700F which was working fine until a couple months ago after an update from Microsoft. Now the program that is to be used with the scanner - MP Navigator Ex 2.12 does not work & I keep getting an error message advising that the program does not respond and will close down and Windows sends an error report and will advise if they find a solution. What I would like to know is there another program that I can use with this scanner instead of the MP Navigator Ex 2.12 as Microsoft has not come up with a solution? I am very annoyed with Microsoft and all the so-called updates that I receive and then interferes with other equipment or programs already installed. They first attempt to prove to you that they are genuine by getting you to access your windows internal error log file and showing you a large amount of error messages. In this case it was 18000 corruption errors in MsiInstall.exe. They will further attempt to prove themselves by supplying you with the real BSB Number of Ayogi, intimate details of the company, and reciting your CSLID number, even when your internet is disconnected. They get you to run a hardware check on your computer and if it returns as being out of warranty they will offer 4 different warranty options (1 year, 2 year, 3 year and lifetime warranty ($400). This includes 6 years of anti-virus for up to 5 computers They will then request access to your computer via a remote access program and scan your system for viruses and errors using programs such as Advanced System Care and Deep Care. They will take pains to show you what they are doing during their operation to complete the illusion of transparency. They have access to license codes for AVG anti-virus program that will extend its duration for up to 6 six years. they also have access to license keys for Windows 7, which they used to to fix a siblings computer who had let his license lapse. They will also offer licenses for Security programs which you have installed ($50 for 6 years) if they see you are currently using a !legal! free trail version of the product It is also apparent that they had many codes for most other security programs.
