  1. Hi everyone. There is another thread describing my exact scenario, although there appears to have been no attempt offer any suggestions since it was initially posted over two months ago: Contacting Server for Information When Printing Email in Outlook 2010. So I thought I would phrase the question differently and see what anyone might have to say about it. It appears that on our PCs with Windows 7 Professional and MS Office 2010, when a user attempts to print an Email with a web page embedded in the body of the message, a message about "contacting the server for information" appears for upwards of 45 seconds, and then after another two or three minutes, the message finally prints out. This seems to happen whether the user wants to print to a network printer or one that is attached locally to his/her PC. In similar, but not exactly the same, threads there are hints that this might be a firewall issue, where the system does not trust messages with HTML code. So, on one of these computers, I tried disabling the Windows Firewall and also Windows Defender. This made no difference in the scenario whatsover. So, my question is ... is there a workaround if not a solution? My management wants either a fix or an explanation as to why it can't be fixed. Hence, this post by me. This does not seem to happen on our Windows XP machines with Office 2003. Thanks for whatever ideas you all can offer. Marty Martin J. Franek View this thread

  3. I am trying to uninstall a beta version of Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010, so that I can install my new Professional Plus 2010 on my computer. Every time I try to uninstall the beta, it says: "The language of this installation package is not supported by your system." And whenever I try to install the new, bought, version of it , it says: "Setup is unable to unable to proceed due to the following error(s): Microsoft Office 2010 does not support upgrading from a prerelease version of Microsoft Office 2010. You must first uninstall any prerelease versions of Microsoft Office 2010 products and associated technologies. Correct the issue(s) listed above and re-run setup." I extracted the files of the new Office 2010 using jZip. I'm completely stumped. I really need help. And for some reason, the FixIt button isn't working for me. All my browsers say that it can't open the webpage to download the software. So, I don't know how else to uninstall the Office 2010 Beta program. Yes, I have Windows 7. View this thread

  5. Hi! I have create a signature, and it works fine when creating new emails. But when replying/forwarding, there is no signature attached. And this despite I have attached the signature under options->mail->signatures->Replies/forwards. I have tried setting it to none, saving, adding it again and also with another very simple plain two word signature, with no result.... I am running Office Professionel Plus 2010 on Windows 7 Enterprise 64bit I really hope that you have some suggestions, because this is really annoying! BR Rasmus Hovendal View this thread
  6. Hey Guys, Have had a good look through the outlook 2010 options but can't find anywhere the option you had in previous outlook versions to set always reply using HTML format email as your default reply type. You can open the email and go to the "Format Text" tab and Select "HTML" but I was looking for a permenant way of setting HTML. Thanks for any help you can give, Thomas View this thread
  7. Ok, I have read several threads on WHS connectivity and have not seen my problem. I am running WHS on a vanilla HP EX470. Life was great until I enabled remote access. Granted it took some time to get working but it does now. My problem is WHS itself. I had do the port forwarding on my router manually but can connect remotely to WHS. When I am on the WHS itself however, I get little to no external connectivity. Webpages timeout and pinging outside my local network tells me that WHS can't see the addresses. What is going on? Help! 8. I had an M1000 modem from qwest before and my server worked just fine and remote acess was not a problem. I used the prior modem simply as a passthrough, however, I can't do that now because when I try it brings my 20mb conn down to 3mb.... So, when I try using the POS Qwest Actiontec Q1000 modem, It absolutely refuses to correctly forward the ports.... I set it up and nothing happens, instead when i acess my remote site through the web it gives me the prompt as logging in the Q1000 modem... Its complete instanity. I have upgraded the firmware and have tried disablign uPnP as some websites said, but that didn't work....Any ideas? View this thread
  9. Hi. I downloaded, installed, and configured the 120-day evaluation copy of WHS. Purchased a copy from Microsoft. Tried to enter the authentication code, and it simply fails. I call in on the phone, and that operation fails. What's up? (I've tried multiple times, for several days. The computer is connected to the Internet, has connectivity, yet when I click the link on the activation page to go to the online site, it takes me to a page that doesn't exist (that is, it's a broken link).I'm sure the copy I have on the computer is a little more recent than the copy I got from Microsoft (later SPs and stuff). Any suggestions? Is there a human I can talk with on the phone about this?I really don't want to have to start all over with the installation DVD, although I guess I can if I have to...-- Ken View this thread
  10. Have had the server since launch, never had a problem with it. Today I can't access it from any of the computers. Notice the health light is blinking blue. Started to troubleshoot, have eliminated anything on the network being a problem, even replaced the ethernet cable. Tried a recovery, but even the recovery software can't find the server -- nothing else has changed, such as a firewall blocking access, etc. Any ideas? I am stumped ... thx in advance for any tips, etc. Right now it's a big paper weight. David View this thread
  11. Currently I'm trying to get the remote access portion of WHS to work properly. I am able to view/manipulate files via the web interface, as well as get into the remote control portion as far as it prompting me to use the attached printers/clipboard, etc. Once I get that far into the remote access portion it attempts to connect and immediately throws an unable to connect, connection dropped error (can't remember exact error offhand). I have the modem set to forward the ports 80, 443, and 4125. I confirm that I can get through (and see traffic) on the port 80 and 443 side, but using some tools I can see that 4125 still doesn't seem to be forwarding, or at least not getting to my machine properly. I had originally thought that it was because I was using a Linksys router behind the Qwest modem, but I took that out of the picture and now have the WHS box hooked directly up to the modem. I've verified that I have the firewall on the modem disabled and that the ports forwarding properly. I've also put the machine into the DMZ and I still can't remote to the actual machines. Has anyone else on Qwest with a M1000 modem had similar issues or am I missing something? Thanks View this thread
  12. I have a SonicWall TZ 180 Wireless Router. I have installed WHS on my system and had to manually open ports to get it to work. It seems to works fine on the LAN, but I cannot get a connection to clients on the WLAN. I guess I need to open the same ports. My question is: what do I put as my destination and source in the firewall rules. Is it LAN/WLAN or WLAN/LAN or something else? Do I open up the same ports as what MS recommends. I am almost there - any help from anyone would be appreciated. Thanks, FF View this thread
