  1. Excellent and your welcome. The scans can take some time but they must run to the full scan. I am around for the rest of the day and will be here to help. JB.
  2. Firstly lets cleanup the computer of temp files. Download and install: CCleaner - Home Highlight the "Cleaner" button on the left. Then click"Analyze" button on the right. Once "Analyze has finished running click on the "RunCleaner" button. Once finished cleaning close CCleaner. Download and install: SUPERAntiSpyware.com | Remove Malware | Remove Spyware - AntiMalware, AntiSpyware, AntiAdware! Update SuperAntiSpy. Then click on "Scan Computer" button and choose "Perform Complete Scan" and click next. Once the scan is finished get SuperAntiSpy to fix anything found. Download and install: Malwarebytes Anti-Malware - Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET Download.com Update Malwarebytes. Open Malwarebytes and check "Perform Full Scan" Then hit "Scan" button. A popup box appears hit "Start Scan" button. Once Malwarebytes has finished scanning get it to fix issues found and you should be prompted to restart the computer. Once restarted please re-run Malwarebytes and copy and paste the report into a post for me to check. Hopefully if this is the only issue the above should fix it. Use the FREE option do not purchase any of the above software.
  3. Hello and welcome to the forum. Let me give you the fix for that. Just wait a few minutes while I get the software together for you to run with instructions. JB.
  4. Could you check which service pack you have installed please? Right click on My Computer and choose properties. As you bought this machine from eBay have you checked the OS is genuine. Also posting the service tag number will help us find the right service manual to read.
  5. Maynard asked you for the service tag he did not tell you to call Dell. Turn the laptop over and you will find a service tag. Post the exact service tag on your next post. This will enable us to provide you with driver downloads that cost you nothing but a connection to the internet and a few minutes.
  6. Is your side still off your case? If yes see if you can listen to which one it is.
  7. I have one to add: Stress test the system: SiSoftware Sandra - Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET Download.com I usaly recommend for upto 24 hours.
  8. That is excellent shrimply. I hope it goes well. Once installed use the driver disk supplied with your new mainboard to installl hardware drivers, same goes for your graphics card. Or download updated ones from the manufacturers website. Download speedfan: SpeedFan - Access temperature sensor in your computer Anything else we can think of we will post for you. If you have further questions please ask away. I think you did an excellent job and now we wish to see pictures cause we like to see how a build goes but plenty time for them. Congradulations on your new build. JB.
  9. 36 is fine myne runs around that. Room temp is possibly the whole internal temp which often looks high.
  10. Yeay she powered on. Excellent job shrimply just excellent. 36 appears fine to me. We can monitor temps from within windows once you install the operating system. I would power her off, remove from power outlet.Wait till power supply cools then touch the power supply for a few seconds. Connect the hard drive. Restart, enter BIOS set first boot to CD/DVD rom popin install disk save and exit and go ahead and install windows. Oh and if you have another RAM stick please insert that while powered off.
  11. I would plug it to the mainboard to be honest if it has the adaptor. This way the mainboard sensores will reconise the fan. You can try your wireless keyboard and mouse and see if it works to get into BIOS. When your ready turn her on and enter BIOS and check the temp of the CPU fan. If it all appears to be running fine then power her off and connect the hard drive. Restart the computer again, enter BIOS set first boot to CD/DVD rom hard drive to second boot and popin your install disk.Save and exit.
  12. If the fan has a 4 pin connection that looks like it goes to a 4 pin power supply connection that is were it should go. If it has a tiny mainboard connection it goes to mainboard. Either connection means the fan would run while PC is on. I would test using your new PCI graphics card,so yes connect your monitor. Do you have a normal cable connect keyboard and mouse to use? Connect mouse and keyboard. I think we are good to go for now. Lets power her on now if you feel comfortable to do so. ALWAYS ask questions if your not sure. And you are very welcome.
  13. Hello and welcome to the forum. Do you mean Virtual Machine? The following links explain it and how to. VMware Cloud Computing with Virtualization, Green IT, Virtual Machine & Servers Windows Virtual PC: Home Page Virtual machine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
  14. Front USB and card reader connect to the lower edge ports see the blue one and the yellow one? Your mainboard speaker needs connection also, see the white socket near SATA cables? Have you connected the power cables from the front of the case as in on off? You know what a good idea would be now? Take five mins, make your self a cupper and relax for a few then we can get back to it.A break is always good.
  15. Tootech put a ring round the 4 pin socket I was refering to. You can connect the HD Audio to bottom far left port. Case fans either need connecting to the mainboard or do they have a four pin power supply connection that looks like it would connect to the power supply? Thankyou both for pictures.
  16. I tried to get a decent sized picture of your mainboard but they all to small for me to see. The four pin port/socket would be located possibly near your sound card at the back end of the PCs mainboard. Is there any?
  17. Lets see if TooTech sees anything we may of missed. I never connect the hard drive untill I tested the system,I fear the hard drive is usaly the first to go if there is any problems. Yeah I seen the board has a 24 pin. Which question?
  18. Ok next step. Unravel the cables from the power supply if they all bunched up. Lay them out side the case the best you can and so they aint wrapped around eachother. Now do the cables have voltage written on them? See your processor you should have a cable coming from it.That fits into the CPU header near the processor.,Can you see a connection on the mainboard for it? Do not connect any power supply to the hard drive. Connect power supply and IDE,SATA cables from hard drives and CD/DVD rom drives to the mainboard. Your mainboard has a 20 or 24 pin power supply port. If it is 24 pin then use the 20+4 pin power connection from PSU and connect to the mainboards main power supply port.Or if 20 use the 20 pin. Does your mainboard also have a small 4 pin port or 2x4 pin?
  19. Shrimply the fan I was refering to some call it a cooler. TooTech I should of said case back plate or case motherboard plate.
  20. Ok now what I usaly do is fit the CD/DVD rom drive and hard drive but I do not at this time connect any power supply connections. If you have a card reader you can also fit that. If your graphics cards cooler is already fitted you can fit the card in the top PCI slot.
  21. You only need to fit one stick of RAM in the slot nearest your processor for now. Shrimply they aint a must have it is just I like to use them.
  22. Not nessaserlily. I know many do not use the washers,it is my personal choice to use them even if they are not supplied with your purchase. The mainboard is plastic and the standoffs and screws are not touching nay major components.
  23. Ok thats ok. Fit CPU etc before fitting the mainboard in the case.
  24. Ok maybe it doesnt remove and is permanent. Some cases are like this. Do both sides of the case come off? If yes remove both sides.
  25. Shrimply please feel to ask further questions if you need to. I would rather you ask for extra help were needed. Start the first post then we can move onto the next set of instructions. Post pictures if you need to. JB.
